[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2psk8k2.png]Life here was different from his life back ‘home.’ There were no elaborate parties, no songs in the distance, no endless mountains. It was a quieter, humbler existence here. He liked it, surprisingly. Mostly he liked it though because his charge was easier to follower and she too appeared happier despite the creature that had claimed her body as its host. She had changed in the few months they’d been here; she may not have noticed it, but he did. He had raised her after all, as weird as it may seem. Physically she was only a year younger than him, but in truth, she was nearly half his age. He suspected she had chosen to grow faster due to his influence.
His charge had always been sensitive about her guardian.
Liam focused his breathing to his core muscles, tightening them the spare second before impact. His sparring partner winced upon hitting his abdomen; even without his metal skin in this form, he could force a tiny electric current through his muscles to mimic the surface effects of his dragon’s metal skin. His partner leaped back to avoid a knee to the face. They circled each other; both were slick with sweat, but while his opponent was panting heavily, Liam was barely winded. Liam rolled his shoulders and finally sprang into action. He’d been on the defense for the longest time now, waiting for his opponent to tire.
He leaped forward, swinging a high right hook. His opponent ducked and almost fell into Liam’s low left punch. His opponent retaliated with his own punch and Liam chose to dodge instead of block. He flicked his head to the side, feeling the fist brush his hair. He spun around, lifting an elbow upward. Light caught on the emerald gem set in the gold band wrapped around his left arm. Liam’s dark eyes flashed emerald green as he manipulated a light shaft to temporarily blind his opponent. His opponent closed his eyes with a gasp, knowing what was coming. Liam pulled his attack to lighten the blow at the very last minute. His elbow connected to the other man’s temple with just enough force to daze him.
His opponent collapsed onto his side and rolled onto his back, regaining his senses. ’I thought we agreed no powers,’ the man mumbled. Liam wiped the sweat off his brow and began to unwrap his fist. ”You agreed to it, I did not,” the young Wind Dragon spoke emotionlessly. He helped his opponent to his feet and made sure he was fine to be on his own. Liam had pulled the instinctual explosive strength from his punch, but he’d given enough people concussions even then for him to just send the man on his way.
He returned to his bag, blinking in surprise to find his charge sitting next to the bag. She wrinkled her pert nose as his the smell of his perspiration hit her. Her feathered wings rustled as she leaned back. Liam had never been very happy that she displayed her wings. They weren’t solid white like an angel’s wings should be. Liam himself looked pretty human other than the gold band and emerald on his arm. He of course had the High Court features of royalty, but Wind Dragons were rare so not many knew what they looked like. Royal Wind Dragons didn’t really fit the criteria of the Wind Dragons most saw anyway. Kao handed him a towel, her sightless silver eyes staring at a point over his shoulder. So her sight wasn’t good today, eh?
”Are you not supposed to be getting ready for that dance tonight?” he asked quietly, simply. Kao leaned forward, her elven ears twitching. ’Eh, Phall is going to help me get ready, so I don’t need to disappear so quickly. I wanted to make sure you were settling in okay.’ She was always worried about him when it should be the other way around. Liam gave a soft smile only she could see. He placed a hand on her head and ruffled her hair to her protest. She ducked away from his hand, her wings flaring out in anger. She glanced up at him then sighed, standing at the silent order to go home. She moved to give him a hug, ”I do not think that is wise, Tanya. You might have to shower again if you do,” he teased lightly to which she realized he was right. She stuck her tongue out childishly before bidding him good bye and leaving the gym.
Liam stretched his arms above his head. He glanced at his arm band, eyeing the emerald that marked him of the Sylvano Family of the Danthos House. To other supernaturals, the arm band meant nothing; even among the other dragons, the old practice of marking family heirs with the family crest and gem wasn’t very well practiced. It was among the Wind Dragons, just because Wind Dragons were said to be of higher ancestry. One day Liam would be head of his family and a prince in his own right. His cousin would be the Great Queen one day, and he would be her adviser. Or continue as her Guardian. He didn't know quite yet what his future was.
With a sigh, the dragon grabbed his water bottle and drank his thirst before moving to grab his ipod. He put the ear buds in and moved off to a nearby treadmill. He turned the machine on and began his long haul jog. He would have preferred to go flying, but his form would draw too much attention in the day time.
All this thinking of politics made his head hurt.

He was looking for her. She knew it already knew it. She was late getting back to the hell she was expected to call home, but she couldn't go back yet. Not when she knew what waited for her. She'd have to return eventually, there was no other option. He owned her, she was nothing more then his little pet. His toy to fuck when he felt like it, to stand and to torture when he decided that was the route he wanted to go. It tended to depend on how long it had been since he'd last bed a woman as to what he did with her. But that had been her life since she was a child. Her dark brown hair was pulled over her shoulder in a braid, her brown eyes bleeding into a bit of purple from the fear. The purple that was mimicked in the fins of her dragon, and the random array of markings. She was a very beautiful dragon, luckily. Not that very many got to see that. Very few got to see her at all. She rushed down the hall, stumbling faintly in her flats. It was a sign, clearly, that she needed to relax. Alex hadn't found her yet, he wasn't at her heels. And she knew when she saw him she'd have to go to him. It was the rules, and following the rules meant she wouldn't be hurt as much. And she didn't want to be hurt. Not any more than she already was.
She forced her breathing to slow as she made her way through the halls before stopping in front of the gym. Hesitating, the young water dragon went inside, jumping and flinching visibly when someone called out her name in greeting; her eyes snapping open wide with a fear not worthy of the individual. It was just someone from one of her classes. It wasn't Alex. She was safe. For now. She wrapped her arms around herself as she walked along the wall, keeping close to it before soon finding herself in a corner. Immediately turning so her back was in the corner ( a move made to help her feel safer) she sank to the floor, drawing her knees up as she ran trembling fingers through her hair, her gaze haunted, lost, and filled with a sadness that not few could see the depth of. A sadness that was born the day she turned three and Alex was allowed to hit her for the first time. Now, sixteen (by appearance that is), she'd suffered 13 years at the hand of Alex, almost 14 years . . . And she had long ago learned that it was never going to get better. All she could do was try and enjoy the quiet time she had now, for however long it would last.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2psk8k2.png]Liam was a dragon built for endurance, not speed. Granted, he was a Wind Dragon, so yes, he could be pretty fast compared to most dragons. But he was still considered slow for his species. In human form, he reflected his abilities as his dragon form. He was a muscular guy, not overhaul, considering his wyvern form was streamline. He was a little too thick to be called lean, but he held himself like a relaxed panther. He was intimidating enough with his immense height. The only part of him that really showed superb muscling was his arms, thanks to his wyvern form. He was a very large dragon and his arms had to not only just simply keep him up in the air, but allow for him to remain there for long periods of time.
So taken into consideration his abilities as a dragon, it was no surprise that his human form could last so long. He was considerably faster in his human form, so what he considered a slow working job was probably more of a slow sprint for a simple human.
The stoic dragon was working on mile twenty when he felt a disturbance. He wasn’t alone anymore. He brushed it off at first; this was a gym after all and it wasn’t private. He glanced at the sun through the window and guessed the time. Hmmm...in the past two weeks he’d been coming here, no one was typically in the gym at this time.
He saw movement out the corner of his eye. It was a girl, a thin one. She had no place here, she obviously was not dressed for working out nor did she have an athletic physique of someone who did. He quickly turned his attention back to his jog and noticed, quite frustratingly, that the machine was beginning to show its wear and tear. Damn school and their funds. Couldn’t afford to buy proper machinery. Oh well, he’d just go find a gym in town that offered a membership. They’d take him and they’d most certainly have better machineary.
Before the treadmill could start smoking, Liam quickly shut it off, letting a spark travel from his finger tips into the already broken machine. He was honestly surprised it had lasted as long as two weeks with the crap he put it through. He may be a workout junkie, but he had his reasons. He should probably look into going out on flights at night with Katswiri, as much as the Queen hated him. Funny, considering he’d technically saved her life. Or rather, just prolonged her death for a few seconds. He could probably coax the female Ancient Dragon into sparing with him at night. It wouldn’t take much to provoke the bombshell.
The machine made a strange noise as the dragon turned his back to it and walked away. He ignored it, it wasn’t going to blow up. The spark he’d sent had merely fried the circuits so it wouldn’t blow up on the poor sap who tried to use it next. Liam made his way to his bag, his subconscious noting that the girl from earlier who’d rudely interrupted him was sitting not far away. It was merely an observation. She was a simple looking girl, too fragile and skinny for him. He scoffed and glared at his bag as he snatched a towel.
What did a girl like here think she was doing in a place like this? It was probably that little detail that made his body more aware of her presence. He couldn’t really say he was personally interested, but he was certainly not blind. Something was up. Maybe she was avoiding a teacher by hiding in a place no one would think to look. She might be skipping class. The dragon flexed his arms, raising them above his head in a stretch. His shoulders popped and with a grunt, the dragon turned and let his body fall forward into immediate pushups. He’d just finish his work out by burning through crunches and pushups. For some reason he made sure to fall away from the girl, back to her. Her presence was suddenly very much annoying him.

Natalia quivered as she curled up into the corner of two walls, head bowed, hair hiding the fear on her face as she hid out for as long as possible. She knew she wouldn't be able to stay here forever, not even she would believe that . . . eventually she'd have to return to Alex, but until then . . . until then she can manage a bit safety, to hide and protect herself as much as possible. Anything to avoid the beatings that usually came anytime Alex saw her, and when she had to leave and enter the house a handful of times a day because of school, she tended to run into him a lot. She silently rubbed the scabbed over claw marks on her upper left arm, left over from a few days ago when she'd been slow in going home and had ended up being held down, Alex's claws out, as he beat her. The wounds were starting to heal now, and she just had to be careful, make sure that she got back home in time not to have a repeat performance. She was slowly learning how to time things, to come home so he doesn't see her, to leave while he's in the shower. And she knew it'd work until he caught on to what she was doing and spent a whole night causing her pain as punishment, but for right now . . . right now she could be safe. A buzz vibrated her upper thigh and she froze, turning her scared gaze to her phone as she slowly pulled it out, not having to see the screen display to know it was Alex calling her.
The cellphone had been his way to keep tabs on her, though she'd found someone to remove the GPS in it, but it was still programmed to only receive calls and texts from Alex, and make it so she could only call and text him -- she'd tried otherwise, child services, the police, everything . . . . they all rerouted the calls to Alex, and the message that flashed on his screen wasn't just her name and number, but the number she'd attempted to call. She learned quickly not to try calling anyone else. She stared at the phone as she let it go to voicemail, seeing the little blip that meant he left a voicemail. She didn't bother listening to it, she had thousands like it 'Come home, where are you?', 'Are you coming home soon baby?', 'Come home, let's have some fun?' A wide variety of messages meant to scare her into behaving and doing as he wanted. The phone buzzed again a few minutes later and her body stiffened. Twice, and in a handful of minutes . . . . her eyes shifted, the purple iridescent and standing out again her pale skin, and too-thin frame. Allison . . . maybe she should go find . . . no, it would just mean Allison would get in trouble, and she didn't want that . . . . Another buzz, another call. Her now purple eyes turned down to her lap, biting her lip fearfully as finally a text message came up, "Where are you? Come home now."
She didn't want to come home . . . If he was messaging her this much, it meant she stayed out to late, she'd misjudged . . . another blip of a second text message, "Come home now, girl, or I'll come get you." Tears were pricking in the corner of her eyes as her fear grew, even as she knew she needed to get up, to head home herself, before Alex could come after her. If he found her hiding . . . it would be bad, very bad. The pain, the punishment . . . it'd be much worse then if she went home on her own, despite being late . . . Maybe she could make up an excuse . . . She could say she ran into Carly, had tried to talk to the girl, and been ignored . . . Had followed her to the co-ed dorms (which she had early that day), and had tried to get inside the doors . . . but had lost Carly. Yes. He'd be so pleased that she's getting close to Carly . . . . . but he'd see right through it.
Her phone buzzed again, and she opened the text, the breath in her lungs leaving her in a shallow, fear-filled gasp, "I'm coming." She scrambled to her feet, purple eyes wide as she pressed her back against the wall, fighting to calm down, to relax, anything.. . . but the longer she held still the more afraid she became, so afraid she didn't even notice the other in the room any longer as she started towards the door, shivering and shaking as she clutched the phone like a life line, her gaze dancing around to ensure Alex wasn't already here, already seeing her hiding from him . . . Safety . . . . She was always denied safety. And once more she had to return to the dragon's den.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2psk8k2.png]Sweat was dripping into his eyes and his shaggy hair was no longer holding it’s slicked back position from earlier. The dragon continued his rapid, one armed pushups, switching between his arms every ten or so pushups. It was a good way to fuel his aggravation even though he really had no idea why he was annoyed. Maybe it wasn’t even really annoyance. Who know? Certainly not him, it was well known by his peers that Liam didn’t know the differences between many emotions. Around Kaotanya things were so easy for him, he never had to think about it. Around Kao he was a different dragon.
Liam often thought of how he got to where he was in life. His current theory was that he’d been naïve and foolish back then, rushing into things and feeling things much too strongly. It burned him out and now, so much later in his life, did he realize how truly messed up he was.
Granted, most of his ‘flaws’ as others saw it were actually genetic evolutions his particular family had. It promoted the only bonds he had and his charge, even after they might have dismissed him, was still his charge through out his life. Centuries from now he’d still be hiding in the shadows watching Kaotanya from a distance. Not because of the guardian and charge bond, though. Mostly because she was his responsibility and his world. Everything revolved around her for the dark dragon.
The girl’s phone was buzzing. His sensitive ears seemed to be picking up everything that they did not want to here. The noise sent a shiver down his spine, made his skin crawl and itch. What was that...the itch was the give away. Irritation. His concentration slipped and he lost count. He sighed as he sat back. He reached into the bag on the bench beside him, looking at his own phone, on silent thankfully. No messages from Kao or his roommates (not that he’d expect that really), but one message from Regal. Liam deleted it without looking; he’d already told the fae prince he couldn’t go out tonight.
Liam was towel drying his hair, tousling the dark locks even more, when the girl gasped and scrambled to her feet. His nostrils instantly picked up the thick, sour stench of fear. His senses kicked into high gear and blue sparks danced across his finger tips. Danger was near? The girl was walking towards the door quickly, a distant look in her eyes. She didn’t seem to even know he was there anymore. Not that she gave much notice of him in the first place.
Liam quickly rose to his feet, his long strides quickly bringing him to stand in front of the girl. He blocked the door, intending to get her to talk. If there was any danger, he must know. He must protect his charge. He was about to speak, the girl kept walking, to get her attention but before he could, a spark traveling down his arms leaped into the air. She was mere inches from him and his eyes widened slightly at the electricity’s appeal to her. He snagged the spark out of the air, reining it into his control again with a little difficulty. That was strange, the electricity only acted like that around wat-
She crashed into his chest, his thoughts so tied up in his musings. A sharp jolt ran through his system, a range of sparks showering him and the girl. The Wind Dragon barely had a chance to direct the flow around his heart, almost a split second to late.

The water dragon really didn't give the other individual much of a passing glance, just enough when she first walked in to reassure herself that she'd be safe, and not even some mysterious stranger would bother her . . . or worse, report to Alex that she was hiding from him, ignoring her duties of returning home, telling him everything she had learned about today while she attended school. It hardly seemed fair . . . that she was forced to attend a school, not allowed to make friends - or even talk to anyone, really; just so alex can attempt to locate his sister and force her back into the same situation that Nat had lived in for the last thousands of years. long enough to really feel the severe pain and suffering of being at the mercy of that man, that man she had to call master. The fire dragon truly did alarm her, which was why when the phone started to go off her fear slowly began to build, until at last she was told he was coming to look for her . . . which meant she could no longer hide. If she was caught, if he found her now - hiding instead of going home . . . No, she wouldn't think about that. She couldn't let that happen.
Instantly she was on her feet, shivering as she started to the door, hoping to get home and be able to send him the message that she is at home, waiting for him. She didn't notice the other in the room, the man standing, moving to block her door, her eyes not noticing until she suddenly crashed into him, her frail, to thin; much smaller body crashing into his larger, taller, more muscled one as sparks showered down on them, her eyes snapping open wide, the purple color shining bright in her pale face as the sparks traveled quickly through her body, her vision starting to go back, as her breath left her in a startled gasp, her purple eyes meeting his briefly before she fainted, crumpling to the floor, the sparks flowing out of her finger tips, her feet, before suddenly being returned to the other in the room.
Dimly she was aware she needed to wake up, aware that Alex would be mad if he found her here, with someone else. Mad that she wasn't home already, but as the darkness continued to soak around her, drawing her further until even that dim part of her sank beneath the surface, her eyes closed, frail, bony body still, shallowly breathing.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2psk8k2.png] Liam had always been a fine specimen of dragon. Even without his special abilities, Liam had excelled in a lot. Although by definition his sudden onset aggression and schizoid personality disorder were in fact, disorders that entitled negative responses, the disorders did little to actually negatively affect his life. The Sylvano Clan had long ago turned what should have been disadvantages into advantage. And due to Liam’s early display of these traits, he’d learned to harness them better after having long to work with them.
But there are many dormant traits among the Sylvano Clan. Even Liam’s early display of his SOA, he hadn’t actually harness its abilities much. Coupled with Liam’s Dissociative Identity Disorder, the two abilities gave birth to Berserker, who harnessed the power of a metalloid body; the ultimate defense. Even further, after Liam’s failure with Etheria, the dragon developed Eletrical manipulation. Because these abilities develop later in life to compliment his new charge, he didn’t have the experience nor proper training for these new abilities. He was learning things on his own.
So honestly, it wasn’t his fault. Had he known from the beginning that this girl was a Water Dragon, he would have been more aware of his anger and kept the spark in control. He knew the instant the sparks rained down on them, more than he had seen in a long time that something was most certainly amiss with this young woman. Her strange eye color only confirmed it more. Hadn’t her eyes been a rather bland color before?
It was instinct to catch her as she fell and her weight, almost non-existent, caused him to frown. He didn’t care much for others, but her frame certainly called for a heavy mass. The sparks danced across her pale skin, giving off an eerie blue glow as they skittered back towards the master they only now chose to obey. Well, just his fucking lucky day, eh?
He gave a groan as he sat back on his heels, brushing his knuckles against the frail girl’s neck to check for a pulse. She was alive, if breathing shallowly, but her heart was beating strongly, not missing a beat. She’d recover well even if not quickly. With a roll of his eyes, he quickly saw his only actual option. He set her down on the floor carefully and gathered his things. Shouldering his bag, he crouched down and slipped one arm under her back and the other under her knees. He rose easily and proceed to his dorm.
It was quiet when he entered and moved to place the girl on the couch. He moved to his room, dropping his bag on the floor and taking his sweaty shirt off. He grabbed a clean one from his closet and was about to put it on when he heard Kao’s door open next door to his room. He winced, knowing she immediately saw the magic signature of someone not familiar resting on their couch. She zipped past his doorway quite suddenly, humming some tune only her ears could hear. She hovered over the sleeping girl, grey eyes wide and silver dusted cheeks sparkling. He leaned against his door frame and looked over his charge. Highlights were popping up in her hair in response to the warm spring sun. ”Leelee, why is there a girl on our couch?” she inquired quite innocently. ”I knocked her out,” he stated simply, which earned him a shout from his charge. ”Relax, she’ll be awake later. I could have been mean and let her fall. It was a mild electrical shock,” he deadpanned. ”Mild!”
”Speech”

The young dragon felt the electricity hit her with shock, felt her system turn into something akin to a conductor as the electricity ran the length of her body, before slithering back to the owner, the man before her, even as her eyes rolled back. She dimly felt hands against her skin as she crashed down, her eyes closing, hiding the bright, neon purple from view as she fell silent in his hands, her frail, underweight frame hardly weighing more than he needed to worry about, more than he should worry about carrying; at least. Alex didn't enjoy feeding her too much, for fear of her growing to strong, striking out at him. If he kept her weak, kept her thin. . . . she'd be less likely to do harm if she did act out. And even if she did do so, Alex was larger than her, more powerful . . . as a dragon, and human. He had shown before that she couldn't take him on. But keeping her weak, and underfed. It was more than just helping him control her. He enjoyed seeing her suffer, seeing him control her life. Controlling whether she would pass out from lack of food, or grow dehydrated from lack of liquid. He enjoyed it greatly. To see the pain it caused her. He always enjoyed her pain. It didn't matter what he dead. Whether physical, or sexual, or even mental. His end goal was her pain, her screams; and his own pleasure.
And unfortunately, that was likely to be the outcome of this . . . situation. She lay on the floor, still and unmoving as she was scooped up. Even unconscious her body reacted on it's own, flinching from the touch -- but more than that, from the scent of a masculine dragon. Even lost to the world of the living, she knew that it was a male touching her, and it terrified her. Her eyes didn't open, she didn't regain consciousness, but she flinched all the same. She was carried through the halls, back to the man's dorm, before placed on a couch, while he disappeared. Dimly she started to become more conscious, was a mild electrical shock. A masculine voice. Deep. But from a bit ways away. Mild this voice was both female, and closer. And shocked, or was it outraged? maybe . . . . Natalia didn't know. All she knew was her head hurt. And slowly she sank back beneath the blackness surrounding her.
It was about thirty minutes later, her cell phone had gone off only briefly, long enough for one message to be received from her Master, Alex; reading 'You've pushed too far, bitch. When I get my hands on you, you'll beg me to kill you.' One couldn't even locate the button to reply, or even to call the man before the phone gave up from the electricity that had cloaked her earlier, the front screen going black. This had been thirty minutes ago though. Thirty minutes too long. Thirty minutes that meant her death, or . . . near death. Alex wouldn't kill her . . . He got too much use from her. Far too much . . . She slowly blinked her eyes open, the color the normal brown before slowly freezing at the two smells, a male, and a female. And worse. Dragons. Instantly she sat up, body rigid with fear, eyes bleeding into purple again as she began to panic, instantly looking around, before searching for her phone.
She didn't bother calling out for anyone as she went to check it, feeling her body go still as it lay in her hand, screen black and refusing to change. She felt the breath leave her in a startled weak gasp before she slowly reached for the arm rest of the couch, pushing herself up, swaying on her feet as her eyes finally hit a large clock. Her breath left her as she saw the time, tears rolling down her cheeks, her breath leaving her as she spoke to herself, breathless, terrified, and yet all knowing, "H-He's going . . . to kill me. I'll be lucky to get away with just a few broken bones. Dear god . . . . w-where am I?" She mumbled to herself, tears starting in her eyes as she brought her face down to her eyes, and shook. "Where am I . . . . Oh god.
[/color]" Her breath left her in a weak, terrified cry. He was going to . . . she didn't even want to know all he was planning on doing. As her punishment.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2psk8k2.png]Liam stared at the wall on the other side of the room as the elven, tanned girl fluttered about the kitchen, trying to find a towel. All the while she was berating him and he took it like he always did; without batting an eyelash. He’d never really seen Kaotanya truly angry and honestly, she was never quite intimidating. She was mousey and timid, with a nature that refused to allow her to raised her voice too much nor cause any possible harm, whether it be mental, emotional, or physical. That’s not to say she hadn’t give him a few good scratches or heart attacks when younger. All unintentional of course.
He feared for her, he really did. She had no right to sit upon that throne, a target for any and all.
”The second right drawer Kay, nearly the fridge,” he muttered as she took a breath in the middle of her triad. ’Oh, thanks. But anyway,’ she said, pulling the drawer open to grab a towel and put it under the running facet. ’Are you so dense that you couldn’t smell she was a water dragon?’ Liam grunted as he pulled his shirt over his head and moved to look down at the girl. Kao made her way to the couch, trailing her finger tips along the back of the couch. She crouched down next to the girl and placed the cool rag on her forehead. She moved her fingers to her wrist to feel for her pulse and took note of it.
”Do you doubt my ability?” Kao looked up at him, her petite face arranged in a pathetic attempt of a glare. ’Yes, I do. You shock me on a regular basis, remember?” Liam stared at his charge and crossed his arms. ”Anyone tell you yet that that body snatcher has turned you into a nagging harpy?” He deserved the slap that followed and for a moment he really did believe she was mad at him.
Damn Acid Breath. He wanted his sweet little Kao back.
The girl stirred and both dragons froze to stare at the girl. She shot straight up like Liam had intentionally shocked her a second time. Kao scrambled back, tripping over the unseen corner of the table. She made a small noise of pain and rubbed the area where her hip had connected with it. Liam remained completely still as she moved, muttering under her breath as the sour smell of panic filled the air. She rose shakingly to her feet and Liam rose slowly so as to not startle her. He smelled salt and with a blink, realized she was crying.
Really?
Maybe he should have left the sniveling little creature in the gym. Then he wouldn’t have a red, throbbing cheek, his ears wouldn’t be ringing, and he wouldn’t have Kaotanya riding his ass. Kao rose, rubbing her hip all the while. She wobbled for a moment; her blindness messed with her balance. ’What?’ she muttered, confused by the girl’s words. Liam reached forward slowly, thought of touching her shoulder but decided against it. Blue sparks flickered across his finger tips unbidden. ”You’re in our dorm. You passed out.” Kao gave a rude snort from her position and muttered, ’No, you tried to kill her. He sent a glare at his charge and was glad that she wouldn’t actually see it.

The darkness was nestled around the female as she slept on the unfamiliar house, even as she felt the faint touches of coolness against her forehead, fingers on her wrist, inches down from where the horrible words were scared into her flesh. Distantly she heard fighting, even as she started to stir slowly, exhaustion and remaining after effects of being shocked. She sat up instantly though, eyes wide to see a girl stumble back, tripping, and falling. Instantly Nat's purple eyes were wide with shock, her own fear forgotten to hesitantly approach the dragon, instinct having her make herself as small, and non threatening as she could, helping to straight then girl, even as she fought not to panic, "I . . . I'm sorry, I . . . didn't mean . . . to startle . . . ." Her meek, quiet voice died, as wrapped her arms around her, her gaze down casted as she slowly sank back down onto the couch, panicking at how late it was. Though her panic was put on the side burner when the male dragon - the one who'd shocked her - suddenly reached towards her. Instinct had her jumping back from him, hands up to deflect any blows he might direct at her, purple eyes shining with tears, certain he had been reaching towards her to hurt her. After all, the only time a man had touched her in her life; was to hurt and abuse her. You're in our dorm. You passed out. She glanced to the girl who snorted, eyes even wider at her words. Tried to kill her. She stood again, "I . . . I'm sorry. I must go. My master . . . He's surely angry. I'm sorry.
[/color]" Just listening to her, one could tell how often she said she was sorry, and as she started towards the door, she glanced back at them, hesitating, " Thank you . . . for taking care of me . . .after . . .[/color]" She glanced up at Liam, " The, uh, shocking incident. But please, do not approach me again.[/color]" She bit her lip, turning away, " My master does not approve of me being in the company of others.[/color]" If they could take her from him, she'd be beat for even glancing at them. And considering how they were two dragons . . . she was sure she'd be in trouble . . . and she was already in enough trouble. [/color][/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]

He really needed to do something about that. Maybe he could start teaching her a few defense poses. He was always going to protect her to the best of his abilities, always be near, but there would be times when he would not be near enough and she’d have to hold on until his arrival. It was always good to know a few self defensive things. ”Don’t worry about Kaotanya. She’s a natural clutz.”
His charge glared at him, her fingers twitching in warning. ’Does that saying deserve another smack?’ Liam stared at her, wondering just when she’d got so violent. Especially with him. If he wasn’t so worried about harming her, he’d throttle that damn body snatcher next time he saw her.
The girl’s reaction surprised him, because yes he had raised his hand, but he’d stopped a good distance from touching her. He growled low in his throat, annoyed. Yea, he definitely should have left the ungrateful thing laying on the gym floor. Kao’s reaction was different, worry shining in her grey eyes. The girl’s words, though, sparked something with Kao’s eyes. Tiny pinpricks of color popped into the swirling pools of liquid silver. Liam grasped Kao’s upper arm, the sparks dancing across her skin nothing more than a show.
They did their job.
Kao’s eyes turned sharply to the blue lights and then looked up at Liam. ”Go in your room. No shifting allowed, remember?” he said sternly, not quite keen on having to explain a broken couch and tv to his roommates. Katswiri’s dragon was small enough to fit in the kitchenette and living area, but not without dire effects. Kao’s eyes flickered back to the girl before she nodded and walked slowly to her room, her fingers finding the wall and guiding her. Liam shrugged and ran a hand through his hair. ”Whatever,” the dragon said in response to her last words. ”Just a warning, girl. Don’t drag Kao into any of your twisted games. It would be the last thing you and your ‘master’ do if the Courts have anything to say about it after I’m done with you.” With that, the dragon turned to retreat to his own room.
Ungrateful brat. Why would he dare approach her again? She was the one who ran into him after all.

The girl couldn't help but be nervous, feeling almost cornered by these two unknown dragons, even as the name Kaotanya was given, Don't worry about Kaotanya. She's a natural clutz. She glanced from one to the other before nodding with uncertainty, biting her lip so as to not say anything that might be considered disrespectful. She didn't need them angered with her. Which was what she saw when the male had immediately moved towards her, raising a hand against her. She flinched at the growl in his throat, instantly ready to leave, ready to get away from these people. Her purple eyes were wild with fear as she stood quickly, even as she watched the male speak to the female, before she quietly excused herself only to jump at the man's words, Just a warning, girl. Don't drag Kao into any of your twisted games. Her mouth dropped open at the word game. It would be the last thing you or your 'master' do if the Courts have anything to say about it after I'm done with you. She didn't have a chance to question him, tears swimming in her eyes, as she watched him retreat, and quietly she slipped from the door to return to Alex's home.
She could smell the anger as she crossed the doorstep and entered the home, and she didn't have a chance to explain before she was thrown into a wall. Her pleas and cries falling upon deaf ears as she was punished for ignoring his calls, texts, and being so late. Finally shoved back into the basement that was considered her room (though in reality it was more of a cellar) she quivered atop the bed, nursing the wounds he'd inflicted, the bruises dark against her pale skin, a large gash on her thigh from where she'd been cut by broken glass when thrown. She quivered against the cold of the dark room, her purple eyes helping her see even as she heard him slamming doors, knowing she was probably not going to get dinner from him, before hearing him finally go to his room a few hours later.
She waited an hour, letting him fall into a deep sleep, before she slowly stood, her hand pressed against her bloodied thigh as she slowly made her way up the creaking stairs that led out of the cellar, and finally outside. She moved as quietly as she could away from the house, careful not to leave a trail so that he wouldn't know she left for part of the night when he awoke. She made her way to the lake she'd claimed for her own, tears in her eyes as she fought to walk calmly, the fire from the cut making her leg want to give out. Finally reaching the bank, she let her clothing rip to shred as she transformed, her pale grey body melting into the night, even as the blue, purple, and white markings stood out, though none stood out as much as her purple eyes. She gritted her teeth together as her tiny, lithe body was carried into the water, her cut slicing into a large part of her limb while as a dragon, and she watched the blood mix with the water. She finally was deep enough to dive in, favoring her limb and using her body to swim snake like through the liquid, using only her front limbs for paddling occasionally.
She swerved, spun, and arched her way through the water, letting it relax her, calm her fear from her master's anger, the words of the male before . . . She knew it . . . She couldn't trust any dragon, and why should she? What had they ever done for her? Nothing. Tears fell from her eyes as she left the water, forcing herself to walk out, before finally collapsing on the beach, wincing at the pain from the cut, as she nosed the flesh around it. Her most prominent wound from this last beating, though beneath her scales she was bruised. Unfortunately, the high number of very deep and obvious scars showed this wasn't the first deep cut she'd been given. And it wasn't going to be the last either. Not if she kept getting caught doing the wrong thing. "And one of these days . . . he won't stop at a few cuts, stabs, and bruises. One of these days . . . he will kill me." She mumbled, drawing her muzzle from the jagged, torn flesh, tears in her deep electric purple eyes, ". . . I wish he'd done it long ago.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2psk8k2.png] Night came quickly and with it the itching desire to be out in the open skies. Liam looked at his watch from his position on the couch. Kao lay curled up in the far corner of the couch, her eyes heavy and fighting to remain awake to watch the television. Liam sighed and stood up, turning the TV off and moving to Kao’s side. He picked her up and she gave no protest, snuggling into his chest in search of warmth. Like he’d done so many times before, he put his charge to bed, opening her window to let the night breeze in and the music it held. She said it always soothed her; he wished sometimes he could hear what she did. But to split his soul…it was a heavy price. Too heavy.
Liam turned, closed the door softly behind him so as not to wake her. Her hearing had increased sharply since she lost her sight. He locked the dorm room, taking note that Phallotine’s light was off and Keanu’s, while on, was quiet. He’d be in bed soon too. Liam turned to his bed room, closing the door behind him. He striped his shirt off and looked out the window, taking in the flashes of light across the sky. Ah, no wonder.
Heat flashes.
A lightning show. He could not hear the distant rumble of thunder. Deep within him the Beast coiled and slithered. The lightning beckoned him forth, like a sultry mistress promising a night of good time. More than simply just a good time. He’d encountered enough of those minxes to know that the thrill of the sparks dancing across his fur made them pale in comparison. His massive wings slowly began to sprout from his back. He opened his window and slid out of his jeans and boxers in one go. He lunged out of the window, black leather wings unfurling into the night. The lifted him up into the night, his body so small and fragile in comparison to their massive size.
His body followed the shift, and his great form took flight into the night.
The lightning embraced him as he rose into the sky, racing in arcs down his spikes, causing his hair to stand on end. It charges his muscles and sent his blood boiling. It curled in the pit of his belly, building. It smoked past his lips and with a great explosion of sound, sparked past his teeth, his throat burning with the laughter that bubbled forth. The lightning was addictive. It was all powerful and could never be controlled. But he held its power and it held his soul. Compromise, push and pull, give and take. The dragon danced with the lightning, dodging, weaving, clashing with it head on, diverting it. Letting it fill his being. For hours it continued.
The dragon glided down to earth, hovering over trees, picking out a spot to land that his monsterous bulk would not completely destroy. He picked a decent sized clear and folded his immense wings, shaking out the fur along his neck. He preened a few charged patches along his chest, absorbing the energy into his body and storing it for later. He stretched his neck out and one wing at a time, careful not knock down any trees. He missed the Halleluiah Mountains and High Courts where space was little issue to him. He scented the air and smelled a lake near by. With a grunt, he began the short walk to the water source. His fur shifted and the leathery hide beneath glimmered briefly before his body absorbed the darkness and he disappeared from site.
Good thing too.
When he saw her, everything faded away. The lightning above him, calling him for more play, the instinctual desire to be near his charge as she slept unprotected, the need to get out of this suffocating city. It all disappeared. She was a goddess; nothing compared to her beauty, not Kaotanya with her vibrant purple hues, not Etheria who had captured his heart with her ruby eyes and colorless scales. She was smooth and sleek like a water dragon should be. He longed to rub his hands along the senuois contours of her body, memorize each and every little bump. She was an iridescent pearl on the sea floor, the northern star in the night sky.
”Death is a very final outcome, M’lady,” he murmered, slipping in to the proper addressing he’d learned of any female who might be of high status. She was water dragon, a pretty one at that. If she wasn’t royal, his words would be enticing enough. Ah the spoils of being at court; you did not have to be a flirt to be charming to any ladies. He let his presence be known, letting his camouflage drop as his serpentine neck and arrow head emerged from the shadows of the tree line. He kept his body hidden, knowing his massive bulk would frighten such a fair creature away. She would not run, not that easily. He sniffed the air in an effort to catch her scent, but froze at the metallic stench of blood. The beast within rose. ”You are injured, M’lady. Quite gravely, might I add. May I be of assistance?”

Natalia moved slowly out of the water, trying to becareful and not hurt herself with every step she took, before finally giving into the agony and collapsing in the sand, letting it form around her body as her eyes closed, her head burrowing into the cool grit. She barely had a chance to close her eyes before a murmur of a sound came from the shadows, jolting her head up right quickly, Death is a very final outcome, M'lady. Her nose filtered through the scents before her body froze even more, recognizing this one. The male from before, the one that had shocked her. . . hadn't he done enough, already? And the M'Lady? Who was he kidding. Had he not called her girl just a few hours ago, before she'd been beaten for being home so late, and go dknows what other excuses Alex had for the severity of her punishment. She kept her body coiled tight, looking as small as she could, which wasn't hard considering she was a very delicate creature. You are injured, M'lady. Quite gravely, might I add. may I be of assistance? She turned her face in the direction of the voice, peering through the darkness, her purple eyes standing out against the softer, muted colors of her face, "No thank you, I think you have already 'helped' me enough after the shock earlier." She said quietly, shifting to keep the torn flesh of her leg from view, not wanting to show weakness to any dragon. Alex had already used her weaknesses to hurt her more, who was to say this one wouldn't do the same. "Please. Leave. I'll be in enough trouble if I'm caught out of the cellar I'm locked in at night . . . if I'm caught around other individuals, he will not be pleased. I'd rather not have another injury to tend to.
[/color]" She added, her voice forlorn, showing she'd given up and resigned to her fate. He'd shown earlier he thought it was all a game to her . . . well, let this be a lesson. Not everyone plays, and even if her master found her to be a toy . . . . then he was well on his way to breaking her and throwing her away. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify][/color]

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i45.tinypic.com/2psk8k2.png] He should have been at least some sort of surprised to find out this dragoness that had so captured his attention was the pathetic, meek girl from before. But frankly, he wasn’t all that surprised. Now, don’t get him wrong, he knows there are females out there that are strong. Katswiri is one. His mother another (the only true female to strike fear in his heart), and some of his sisters. But you have to understand, dear Liam grew up in a community where it was common practice for females to take lesser roles. Occasionally one rose to the ranks of warrior, but not often. So Liam as a whole grew to see females as a weaker, delicate subspecies of dragon. Even Katswiri in all her power held a daintiness about her. Strip her of her jewelry and voice and glares, you were left with a slim, curvaceous female who certainly turned heads with her colors and general pleasing appearance. His Kao was a prime example. Right now she was a delicate rose bud, waiting to be groomed into perfection and bloom in a glorious creature, with painful thorns to grow alongside that delicate appearance.
Liam accepted that females could be strong and powerful, especially in spirit, but as a whole, they were lesser.
He snorted rudely, glowing verdant eyes narrowed. ”Now that was you’re own fault, as I recall, you ran into me,” he stated plainly, stepping forth from the shadows. ”Lightning does not like to be controlled, it has no master. It can be bent and swayed and coaxed, but never controlled. Water attracts electricity, my dear. Who am I to stop electricity from performing its most basic instinct.” Blue sparks raced down his spine in a vibrant show, illuminating his massive bipedal form in the shadows. He flicked his tail to disperse the sparks, releasing the built up energy so he’d be less likely to shock her. He’d recharge later. He prowled forth, his figure looming above her like a tyrannosaurs peering at his next meal. His gaze was distant, a little cold, but far from predatory, though.
He was a strange looking creature and now that he was in full view, his full body could be seen. Even without his wings extended he was monstrously huge. Tonight he walked with his weight settled over two thickly muscled hindlegs, keeping his wing folded tightly at his sides. A gold arm band shined against his black skin, the emeralds set in it refracting the moon light. He was not only different in body type (he had fur!), but coloring. Not many dragons came in his colors at all, even less when it came to Wind Dragons. Wind Dragons were pale creatures of the sunlit skies. He was a wrath in the night ready to snatch up even the strongest of the strong.
She was a fearful creature; walking with his elbows to support him might scare her off, for even that slight movement made his immense wingspan all the more prominent. ”At the rate you let it go untreated properly, I doubt you’d have time to receive another injury. This ‘master’ of yours would be quite a suicidal fool to attempt to harm me. Besides,” The dragon rumbled and suddenly, a shimmering flickered over his fur before the shadows of the night began to seep into his frame. Slowly his bulk faded from existence until only his eyes remained. Then that too winked out of sight. ”It is quite hard to find a dragon who does not exist.”
