HUMAN ;; MEDIAN #1 ;; MEDIAN #2 ;; KATSWIRI Dragon ;; KAOTANYA Dragon ;; COMBINED Dragon
Due to Kaotanya's dragon name being such a mouthful and so traditional, she often goes by the human name of Kaylee Daniels. She doesn't really like people calling her by her full name since most being, supernatural and non, don't know the full weight of it. Kaotanya's dragon breed is actually a mix. She's half Wind and quarter Ancient, quarter Tundra Dragon. To fully understand this, one must have an open mind. Kao's body is host to two souls, her own, and the only living Ancient Dragon from the dawn of time, Katswiri. As such, Kaotanya has access to magic that has long since left this world and often is not bound by the simple and most basic rules of magic.
Build;; Of rather average height, Kaotanya isn't one to really turn heads. She is rather slim though, and of a surprisingly athletic build, giving her health issues. Her core muscles are distinctly shaped and her arms are lean. She's built for lasting power, though the power isn't as strong as one might expect from her appearance. She's a lot lighter than one would expect though, due to her bones being made of a strange cartilage by-product instead of actual bone. Her bones in a way, are built to bend with hard hits rather than withstand them. The cartilage-like properties prevent her bones from breaking as often and absorb much more than simple bone would. As such, this can also be a problem, as when there is a force great enough to indeed break them, the healing process is twice as long and painful.
Fashion;; Kaotanya takes pride in her rather strange style of dress. Coming from a realm that has high average temperatures and a lighter gravity, Kaotanya's fashion sense is rather...unorthodox for this realm's climate. Back in dragon realm, Kao calls home a place high in the mountains. As such, her color schemes often include soft colors of mostly blue and white, but the occasional green and purple are also seen. Being blind too, she keeps her wardrobe so that every thing tends to match without her trying. Kao's actual fashion sense is reasonable and plain for her realm, but for this realm, it's a rather extravagant and unorthodox style. As she comes from a hot, humid realm, her clothes are made of a sheer material that allows her body to breathe. Her clothes are also often form fitting over her torso and belly with a tight thread weave to preserve heat on the cold nights. Her sleeves are long and billowing, made of a soft mesh material. Magic is woven through the threads, which will, once she is trained, allow her to use the sleeves as an armor of sorts. She tends to wear clothes that are open on the shoulders and knee length shorts of a breathable material. She likes to go barefoot for it helps her know where she is at due to her blindness, but when not barefoot, she wear thin flats that bend to the ground beneath her and give her roughly the same effect as walking barefoot.
Human;; Kaotanya only uses this form when she is dead set on hiding amongst a large population. As a full human in appearance, she is rather plain looking. She's pretty enough, but not drop dead gorgeous. She's more of the humble pretty type. She's dark-skinned, not dark enough to be considered of African origin, but certainly dark enough to be darker than tanned. Her hair is a dark brown, almost black, that falls in gentle waves to the small of her back. She almost never brushes it, but it's delicate texture allows it to fall freely and makes it hard to tangle. Her face is small and delicate, innocent looking even. Her eyes are a dull grey though, betraying her blindness.
Median;; Her median form is her most common form, the form she's presents to humans who are accepting and knowing of the supernatural world. In this form, Kaotanya is much less than plain. In fact, it is incredibly easy to overlook her and she may even be explained as undesirable among her kind. Among her kind, females are expected to be vibrant in their median forms. A lot of Kao's human earth appearance transfers from her median appearance. Now, as she ages and grows more accustomed to her lifestyle, Kay will develop into a desirable female, just not of looks like most females of her kind. Now, that's not to say Kay is ugly or anything, she'd just too bland among her kind, but for someone in this realm, she's as close as one can get to a goddess. In this form, Kay displays long, upwardly pointed ears that she can twitch. In median form, her dark skin and dark hair are the same, though as she ages and become more adept in magic, her hair will begin to display streaks of silvery white. Her cheek bones and temples are dusted with a silver mist, almost like fairy dust, that stands out against her dark skin. The silver dust shimmers like flickering lights when she uses magic. Silver also dusts her collarbones and shoulders, although these are less noticeable than the silver on her face. Small, feathered wings of varying subtle blues protrude from her should blades. Her eyes in this form display no pupil, and where she not blind, they would display the brilliant copper hue known of her family. It's sad to say, but something as little as eye color would make her more desirable among her kind. Though she is blind, Kaotanya can, in a sense, very much see. She has always displayed as a child a highly adapted ability to sense and 'hear' the ancient magic many struggle with when young. As such, Kao's body has developed a way to unconsciously use the magic surrounding her to let her 'see.' It's a very vague sense of it, but the magic tends to cling to forms of life, condensing thickly around stronger life forms. For example, she might see the faint outline of a tree, flecked silver along the edges, but a moving, breathing animal will have a denser silver form and the whole body instead of the edges, will be illuminated in silver.
Katswiri's Dragon;; Katswiri, the Dragon whom Kaotanya's body acts as a host for, is an Ancient Dragon and such, is very primal looking and one of the most basic, early forms of dragons. Katswiri is built like a European dragon for the most part. She's also part Tundra (water/ice) dragon, so her color scheme is muted blues and white. She has a pair of backwards curving horns on her head followed by a crest of horns running down her cheeks. Ivory spikes run from her forehead down her neck, back, and tail, ending in a deadly blade she is MUCH too adapt at using. She has complete control over her spikes, surprisingly, able to raise and lower them. She can raise them to gore anyone leaping upon her back, but also flatten them so they interlock and allow her to swim much faster. Her scales are so small and tightly woven, that they almost don't exist except for large protective plates running from her throat to chest. She's long and built thin for a European dragon, made light enough to walk atop the snow and aided with this by human likes hands with webbing that spread her weight upon the snow's surface. She is mottled and speckled with alternating spots of dark blue and white, a very affective way to break up her outline when hunting in the snow. She has a black mask around her pale eyes to help absorb the sunlight's rays reflecting off the surrounding snow and ice. Her wings are the only thing to mark her not European in build. While large and leathery with blood vessels close to the surface to maximize heat capture from the sun's rays, she does not have one pair. No, Katswiri has TWO pairs of wings. She has a pair of large wings for lift and power flight, but a smaller pair set just behind and below her main pair, used for stabilization, tight maneuvering, and long distance gliding.
Kaotanya's Dragon;; Kaotanya's dragon form is most certainly not what one would expect of a Wind Dragon. Because of this, she does not like to exploit herself and show off; only the most trusted she her dragon form. It is most because her dragon form displays colors of the royal families. As such, Kaotanya's dragon form is what her kind desire in median forms. Vibrant colors, beautiful markings, something that one does not forget. Kaotanya's dragon form is lean and lithe, small, only a little bigger than a large draft horse. She is long, almost snake-like, but also distinctly avian in how her back legs display thicker muscles that allow her to walk on her hind legs and free her forelegs. She isn't built to constantly walk in this bipedal form though, it is only temporary. Kaotanya's body is smooth and sleek, built for silent flight , agility, and speed. She has no scales; her body is as smooth and soft as silk. She has a fringe of hair from her forehead down to the base of her neck and two forward sweeping horns on her head. The most astonishing feature for Kaotanya are the long, pierced ears she displays. Most oftenly seen in a downward drooping position, but capable of being brought up, forward, and backward, a bit like a horse's ears. In fact, Kaotanya's body is distinctly horse-like, with long, slender legs and a rather short, muscular neck. Kaotanya's wings are feathered and well taken care of; a raven would be jealous of the healthy shine of her wings. She has short, stiff feathers on the back of her elbow and two long, elegant feather trailing from her thighs. Her dragon's colors give her away to the dragon world as a dragon of the Danthos blood. Only royal dragons display vibrant colors. Her color scheme reminds one very easily of twilight, with the dark blues of oncoming night and the purple hues of the fading sunlight. The edges of her colors are mottled and blended beautifully. She has a white throat, beak, chin, and blaze. Starting at her horns and trailing down to mid-tail, is a silver streak, also seen in her wings, to represent the stars that have yet to brighten the night. Her eyes, a vibrant copper, as well as the celtic knot and copper medalion around her neck, mark her of a specific Danthos House, and that house would be the Sordia House, the most reverend house of the dragons. Kaotanya is a princess, heir to the dragon throne, set to rule over the other dragons, no matter the breed, and keep the piece between the other supernaturals and dragon shifters.
Combined Form;; This is dragon form that will be seen most. Katswiri has complete control over Kaotanya's dragon form and as such, since she is a prideful creature, displays her own form over Kaotanya's. But she is not so prideful to know evolutionary accomplishments when she sees them. She has taken a few, very few, features from Kaotanya's dragon form and combined them with her form. As such, the new dragon form heavily resembles Katswiri. Kat's has taken away her muddled markings and displayed more prominent ones, most obvious the complex waves of ice blues over her pale robin blue hues. Her spines now run the length of her tail, still capped in a deadly blade, and a mane runs from her forehead down to her lower back. She is now distinctly feminine, with smooth, mostly scaleless hide. Her horns are two long elegant horns and upon each horn wrap thin black wire from which special copper crystals hang and glow eerily. She has two spines along each cheek and behind those spines are short, pert ears, complete with piercings. She displays the celtic knot and copper medallion of the Sordia House around the base of her neck and below that another large, glowing, copper crystal. She has traded her leather wings for feathers, but kept her original design of two wing pairs totaling four. As such, with these knew aerodynamic specs, Kats is unbeaten in aerodynamic combat. Coupled with advance wind manipulation and magical prowess, she is formidable indeed. She has many pieces of jewelry in this form and they all serve a second purpose. The elbow cuffs are for easy mounting of a rider and the tail cuff and chains act as armor. Kats is mostly scaleless in this form as previously stated, but tiny interlocking scales glisten around her cheek spines and ears to protect the delicate skin from swords and other items of possible danger. She has taken Kao's blaze and kept her dark mask around her eyes, but now the mask seems to take the shape of a tear trail, running down her nose in a dark, thin line to slowly disappear. Her underside is white to mimic clouds when one gazes up and her silhouette largely broken up from above due to the waves of a bright blue on her body and topside of her wings.
Magic Abilities;; Because Kats is an Ancient Dragon back in a time where magic ruled and humans did not exist, Kao has severe magical powers...when Kat's lets her use them. They have the potential to use magic no longer available in this world and do not have to follow certain rules other do now. Kats has developed the art of storing magic in crystals and even nursing that stored magic into growing larger. The limits of their powers have yet to be explored, as magic itself at this level is dangerous. Just because one doesn't have to follow the rules doesn't mean one should completely ignore them. Due to Kats severe magical prowess, a lot of Kats' natural defenses have suffered. Wind dragons are not well known for their fire breathing abilities, but that doesn't mean they can't. Kats is pathetically inadept at sustaining a fire as well as projecting one far. She can only breath a fire for a short period of time at a short range, and has a limited amount of times she can do so before she must hunt and replenish her hydrogen supplies. But the fire is perhaps more deadly than even the fire dragons' as it burns white hot, enough to melt bone, even most crystals in seconds. Even a diamond will fall prey to Kats' breath after three shots. But Kats makes up for it in her physical abilites to fight in close quarters and outfox her prey. Her name actually means "cunning" and she is adeptly named so.
Kaotanya is young and it shows in her personality big time. She’s grown up sheltered, protected from the mean nasty world. She's shy and has never really learned to socialize properly. Her going to public school is a desperate attempt to teach this dragon, who has never once had a royal lesson in life, learn how to fend for herself. It's the only way now. She’s naturally inquisitive, always looking for new things to discover and listening for new information. She’s like a sponge, she absorbs through osmosis, and retains every bit of information. She’s always willing to help and is disgusted with how sheltered her life has been beforehand; she wants to change that. She’ll do anything from getting her hands dirty to making a crying child smile. Her heart is large and her compassion shows in all her actions. She’s selfless; her own well being means little to her when her own friends and people suffer so much.History:
She’s inexperienced in the ways of life and naïve to a certain degree. For example: she understands people must die for her to live, as she is royalty and will be protected as such, but she refuses to be the one to sentence those who threaten her life to death, as she views it as killing them herself. She’s a bleeding heart; she refuses to let herself see anything but kindness in everyone, even after they have proven her wrong. She believes that everyone needs to experience kindness before they themselves can give it in return.
Despite her being obviously unprepared to take the throne, Kaotanya is a born queen and it shows in her ability to grow each and every day as well as her ability to change others so easily. She is in essence, a queen just waiting to bloom. She’s noble alone in her ability to never waver in her faith of her ideals and what she stands for. But this doesn’t mean she is perfect; she has her faults.
She’s been thrust from one life into the next in a major upheaval, and not only in the sense of life style, but also in realms. She no longer has to deal with just her secretive family. She has the whole dragon species, Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth, as well as the dragons' peace with the other supernaturals to worry about. She's a Wind Dragon, so thus is naturally secretive, but she isn't nearly as playful or as friendly as one would expect. She is friendly, don't get me wrong, but she's standoffish and awkward.
She can be a bit unpredictable. Give her a break, though. She's recently had her body taken over by the only living High Ancient Dragon, Katswiri and their clashing personalities are causing vast eruptions everywhere. Kaotanya is terrified of Katswiri, frankly; she’s terrified and overwhelmed with the feelings the bond exposes her to.
Despite her weak ties with Katswiri, the more time that passes, the stronger their bond grows. Eventually, their bond will be more than a simple two souls, one body scenario. Both will bring about major changes in each other. Katswiri’s increasing influence on her personality gives Kao the backbone she never had. She’s always been bright, but Katswiri’s enhanced intelligence jump starts her brain. She’s bright, coming up with brilliant, although mildly unorthodox, solutions to problems. She’s growing impulsive each day, defensive of her ideas and she’s known for becoming painfully pig-headed stubborn to protect her own easily hurt feelings.
Katswiri is Kao's dragon side. She's your typical dragon on the surface. She's ruled by her emotions, prone to erratic mood swings and impulses. She's very passionate about everything she feels, it's not just anger. Her feelings for everything are so strong, Kaotanya sometimes has migraines that lasts for weeks because of them. Kats is stubborn and vain, and despite her millions of years of wisdom, tends to act as foolish as a fledgling dragon. She's snarky, rude, and just a plain horrible person to begin with. She can be petty and makes it her personal goal in life to put anyone she views of lesser standing than herself down. And it's not just a simple let down. She will grind you into the ground so far, the heat of the earth's core would incinerate your sorry ass. Don't mess with her. JUST. DON'T.
She's so much more than that though. And this is the good part. You really have to understand not only the legends, but what REALLY happened. Legend says that the Wind Dragon queen, queen of all the dragons, is always picked by a higher power, and that higher power is Katswiri. Katswiri is the last and only 'living' dragon of her race. She is a "true dragon" with no alternate form. She has such advance control over magic, she can MAKE her own instead of borrowing and common magic rules and boundaries mean nothing to her. Even back among her own kind, she was a legend. The youngest dragon in history to have achieved Priestess and Master of the Magical Arts statuses. As such, it is obvious to see why Kats has fallen so much. None appreciate her for who and what she truly is. She's proud to be the last High Ancient Dragon. Katswiri herself was named for her cunning wit; she's not smart just because she's lived so long. She's a broody creature because of her numerous past lives, but most of all because she no longer has a life of her own; she gave her own life and unborn children even to bring about peace so her kind would not go extinct. It was for nothing, her kind too proud to admit they were equals of the lesser shifting dragon species. She's a Priestess and royalty even among her kind, so she can be very prime, proper, and noble when needed. She obviously has a great sense of pride and justice to have so readily given up everything. She's confident in her powers and choices not because of her vast wisdom, but because she knows if one has no confidence in themselves, their people will have even less.
NOTICE: No one but Kaotanya's relatives know the full details of the soul bonding. Dragons have long forgotten that Katswiri is an actual separate being, they have learned to assume Katswiri is simply the dragon form of their leader and it is tradition to name your dragon form such. It is viewed as simple MPD to others. Only Kao and Kats can explain it and reveal it. To reveal the secret without their permission is punishable by death. The royalty of other supernatural species only know the most vague details of the whole re-crowning process.
Kaotanya grew up sheltered and shunned. She was the black sheep even among her family. She would much rather spend her days alone in the forests or upper skies in silent companionship with the birds. She's always been a tad bit of a day dreamer. Thus she never received many royal lessons; she was never suspected to be one Katswiri would even turn an eye to. Kaotanya was the youngest of 37. Her closest in age was her only full sister and she was at least a few hundred years her senior. Kao grew up alone but she never regretted it. She always had a strong connection with the magic nature had to offer.Name: Annie
Katswiri herself had no idea what she was doing when it was time for her to be reborn. All she knew was that the gods she, as a Priestess, answered to, and that the little magic left in the universe pointed to this one girl. The bonding was not easy though and they were nearly incompatible to the point where Kaotanya almost died. Kaotanya's most obvious permanent side effect of her near death, and enlightening, experience is her loss of sight. But she has gained a new type of vision and new senses. Life will never again be the same for her.
Royal lessons came to late for the Crowned Princess. She'd been Princess her whole life, but now she was a Crowned Princess and as soon as she took her vows, would be Queen. The youngest in dragon history. Maybe that's why Katswiri chose her. In an effort for Kao to grow up fast, she was released into the public realm, where supernaturals and mundane humans ran amok. Now Kao is on a time frame to learn because her lands are about to fall on dark and trying times.
