Addison is certainly an eye catcher. The combination of her dark, long, curling locks, big hazel eyes, and pale smooth skin certainly stand out in a crowd. Her face is elfin shaped and delicate, testiment to her nymph blood. Her chin is narrow and ears are lightly more pointed than a normal humans. Her hair is a dark brunette, streaked through with gold and red during the summer months and is a thick mass of tumbling waves and curls. Her eye lashes are long and thick and up close, one can see her eyes are a dark ivy green, not black or brown as they appear from afar.
She is built lightly, for speed, stealth, and flexibility. She's lean, but athletic if her toned legs have anything to say about it. She's a good swimmer, even for a nymph, but her passion is running; she can go for hours. She's of average height, roughly 5'5" and a good weight for her height at 120 pounds. There is a small scar on her face, running the length of two inches on her right cheek bone. It's faint due to her pale skin. One can't see it unless they are up close, but once spring and summer come around and her skin begins to darken, it stands out.
Addison is quiet, timid and shy, rather spending time on her own. Typical nymph. She is heavily restrained, her face only showing the bare minimum of emotions. She comes off as cold sometimes. Her quiet ways travel to her movements and body language as well. Drawn in and used to silent conversations with her brother, Addison is more confident in herself when she doesn’t have to use her voice. When she’s really uncomfortable with talking and is having trouble, she’ll often sign along with her words to help form them better even if the other person doesn’t know sign language. She doesn’t show it, but what others say about her does in fact affect her a lot. She’s incredibly sensitive and after being pushed around, she’ll likely go have a good cry afterwards. She’s easily hurt, though she tucks it in and hides it. She’s not very secure of herself and her heart guides most of her. And it’s big and bleeding. She’s the mother who likes to help those going through hard times even though she herself has her own problems.History:
She’s secretive, keeping things to herself. She doesn’t like to burden others with her troubles. On that note, because she’s so warm hearted, she does have a tendency to want to go out of her way to please others. She has trouble saying no and thinks of other people's wants and needs before her own. She isn’t one to hurt others feelings, even if they are her friends, so if she knows saying something will hurt someone, she won’t say it. Focusing mostly on others, Addison will often feel empty. Often, she doesn't know how she feels, what she thinks, or even what she wants. Her life for the past two years has been devoted to nothing but her baby brother, so along the way she lost a good part of herself.
Addison is the type of person who deals with stress the wrong way. She bottles it up and lets it build until it’s too much for her. She’s had problems with manic depression before and while they have gotten better with her brother’s help, she still falls into deep pits of worthlessness and despair. When she’s like this, Addison is moody, impulsive, and vindictive. She acts almost like she doesn’t want to get out of that pit; she’s so desperate to bare her burdens alone, she’ll often blow off anyone trying to help her. When she’s in a mood like this, it’s best to just be there for her. If you really want to help her, go about it at a round-about way.
On a brighter note, Addison is a true friend. She’s loyal and while still quiet, she’s easy to converse with and hang about. She does have major trust issues, understandable with her background. She's afraid to trust, but regardless, she’s loyal to the end; she’ll stick up for her friends, even if she knows they are in the wrong. Addison is a bright individual who strives to remain on the bright side of things. She has learned from her mother and brother's experiences that so long as she makes an extra effort to do things that make her happy, she’ll be less likely to have an episode. Her little brother is her world, and thus she is his role model, his hero, and she is the mother the boy hasn’t had when around him. Around him, Addison is as bright as the sun.
Addison is heavily focused on her school work, to the point where she doesn't have much of a life other than school. She's nearly two years behind her studies and due to her intelligence, she very well may skip a grade. She's not a genius. She's of only slightly higher than average intelligence, but coupled with proper studying habits and a will of fire and determination, it can be a deadly combination.
Addison adores outdoor activities, though she doesn’t partake in any school sports. She likes going for long runs and swimming, but isn’t not proud of being a nymph. She tries to avoid using her powers as much as possible as she never had good control over them. Addison adores animals; her favorite dogs are Dalmatians and she loves horses most of all. Her family used to own horses and thus also owned a few dogs of the spotted breed, but after her father’s death and mother’s lapse into madness, they sold all their stock, including Addison’s personal weanling she had raised from a baby. She grew up around horses and while they weren’t her entire life, she became a relatively good rider.
Addison's past is pretty typical. As she is a nymph, her family were able to live among the humans much more comfortably than most supernaturals. Addison has never left the city of New Orleans; she knows every back road, ally, and nook and cranny of the city. Addison is the middle of three and the only girl. Her parents thought about adding to their small family, Addison's older brother, James, was a half brother from her mother's previous marriage. But after finding out Addison's little brother, Sam, was deaf, it brought a screeching halt to any plans they had. Addison's father Devon began to work over time. Her brother joined the marines in hopes that the money in his possession after his short service would help for Sam's operation. Two years the family managed to scrounge up the money for Sam's operation and hearing aids.
The operation didn't go quite as planned so Sam can only hear a portion of what was promised. But that's fine with him, his hearing is only slightly impaired with his hearing aids. Addison and Sam immediately grew attached to each other. There was no siblings fights or jealousy. It was this bond that got them through the death of their father. Addison's older brother took over running the farm in his father absence and left the marines after a single tour. He gave his dog tags to his sister to remind her that no matter what her heritage or breeding, she should always be loyal to her country.
Their father was caught in an oil rig explosion and her mother, Lillith, sank deep into depression. Lillith already had mental problems with things of that sort, but the death of Devon brought about an unexpected change. It was more than just depression, she grew mean and Addison was terrified she'd turn abusive. Luckily protective services swooped in. James, stressed with the decisions of selling off their precious livestock and now having to provide for a family, also suffered a brief mental breakdown. He sold all the remaining livestock, packed his bags, gave up custody of his siblings, and vanished.
Abandoned by her beloved brother, her father dead, and her mother locked in an insane asylum, Addison too felt her mind begin to breakdown. But Sam pulled her through and Addison stood for him. She would not let her four year old brother suffer. Addison was close to turning 16 and she pleaded with her case worker to let her and Sam stay together. Knowing that Sam would fair better with familiar surroundings, the social worker agreed. She granted Addison emancipation and Addison found a job to support her and her brother until their mother was released.
After Lillith came home, Addison had to hold up her end of the bargain and go back to school, this time Cry Wolf High. Social services would keep a close eye on her little brother while she got her GED. She plans on officially adopting her little brother once she graduates to take him from their mother.
