The young nymph quivered as she pressed against one of the chainlink fencing surrounding the courtyard, her fingers clutching the fence tightly in nervousness as a small group of guys surrounded her, eyeing her as if she were their next treat. She took a deep, alarmed breath as she looked around hoping to see a kind soul willing to help out. One of the boys, obvious the leader stepped even closer, pinning her with his body to the fence, his hand coming up by her head as he tilted her chin up to make her look into his eyes, "You're pretty cute, new girl. Why don't we take the chance to get to know each other better, hmm? You'd like it, I'm sure." He purred, even as she shoved him away, trying to find a way out. He laughed as he eyed her, "Feisty huh?" He teased her, as she quickly shook her head, "Please, just leave me alone!" The young scottish nymph begged, "Just leave me alone.

Rowan shifted her backpack on her back. She'd stayed out of school two more weeks after the kidnapping but she had to go back. Sadly, she actually almost missed it...almost. The wounds on her shoulder and back were healing well enough for as long untreated wounds go, but the werewolf shoved all these things from her mind. She wanted to concentrate on school and math. If she played her cards right, she could keep her grades high enough despite how much school she'd missed.
Cutting through the courtyard, Rowan slowed as she heard the sounds of others. As her ears picked up the sound of hands on the chainlink fence she veered that way finally looking up. A male had a girl pushed up against the fence and she was trying to get away. Anger flew over the werewolf and she growled as she walked closer. "Leave her the hell alone, son of a bitch." With that, Rowan swung her backpack off her shoulder and bodily threw it at the male hitting him in the middle of the back hard. He swung around to face her and the female continued to growl. "Bring it on pretty boy. I'm just ready to break someone's face today." As the leader advanced on her, she hit her fighting stance and the other boys widened their circle expecting their leader to beat up on her. Rowan bided her time counting and as he swung at her, she blocked with her right and hit him square in the chin with her left. The boy hit the ground hard and the girl swung around to face the boys daring them to come on to. Seeing that they were without a leader, they backed off. In a huff, Rowan picked up her bag, walked over to the new girl, put an arm around her and started walking. "Come on nobody's going to bother you while I'm around."

The female took a deep, frightened breath as the boy leaned over her, clearly amused at her desperation to get away. She took a slight, whimpering breath before her gaze drifted past him, at a girl approaching, and yelling for him to leave her alone. The young nymph jumped, turning towards the fence, arms wrapped around her body as she quivered, quietly watching. The girl continued, successfully dropping the boy, before watching the others back off. Finally she picked up her bag before heading towards her. Isobel stood still, startling when she wrapped an arm around her, leading her away. Isobel glanced up at the girl briefly, before dropping her gaze as she walked, "Thank you . . ." She mumbled quietly, wrapping an arm around herself, "If this is . . . how american boys act, I'd like to return to Scotland, please." She added, attempting to laugh it off, though the laugh died on her lips, even as her sentence named her accent as a Scottish one. "But, thanks. Again." She hesitated, before adding, "I'm Isobel, Isobel Blair."

If she'd been in a better mood, Rowan would have laughed at the other girl's scared rabbit impression. Definitely prey, she thought to herself, her wolf brain working overtime since her release. The werewolf was always watching over her shoulder looking for the next person who'd try to knock her out and trap her. Being kept in a cell had not set well with the 18 year old, but now that she was out she'd be damned if she'd go back in. As she walked up to the school with the girl, Rowan faced forward but her ears continued to listen for the sounds of anyone approaching them from behind. A fight on school grounds was officially against rules and Rowan didn't need to get into anymore trouble this year.
Flicking black hair over her shoulder and carrying her head high, Rowan shook her head. "Think nothing of it. He had it coming and someone might as well teach him that when a girl says no she really means no." The girl chuckled a bit. "Nah, not all American boys are like that...just the scumbags. I"m sure Scotland has it's own share like everywhere else, chica." As they continued to walk, the girl thanked her again and spoke her name. "Pleasure to meet you Isobel. Name's Rowan Townshend, but call me Rowan or Row." PUshing open the door, Rowan walked in. "What year are you Isobel? Do you have your schedule what's your first class?" As they walked into the main hall, Rowan had a flash to her first day when a young demon male had helped her find her first class. Well she ought to continue in the tradition she supposed of helping out others. Besides, this girl needed a bodyguard she was so tiny and scared. The opposite of Rowan in many ways and yet the werewolf took a liking to the supernatural girl whose specie she wasn't sure of.

She girl looked up at the other, looking obviously nervous still, even as she allowed the other to lead her to the school, brushing a strand of her hair back as she lowered her gaze with a faint bit of her lip before watching the female walk, noticing the way she walked. Head held high. Shoulders back. Strong. Isobel wondered if that could ever be here. She tilted her head as the girl spoke, listening politely before blushing faintly, "I'm just grateful someone else was there. I wouldn't have been capable of doing so, I'm not the strongest, and with out water near by I can't defend myself well." She admitted with a slight shrug, before tilting her head and shrugging, "I wouldn't know, I attended an all girls boarding school. Between that, and four over protective older brothers, I had no experience with the boys in scotland, not really." She admitted, with a tiny shrug. "A pleasure to meet you, Row." She added.
As she followed the other into the school, the water nymph moved silently behind her, walking as if on air, as was natural for her spcies, before blinking at the sudden shoving of questions her way, She took a moment before sorting through the questions, "Junior, and yes, I have my schedule, my first class is . . .." SHe paused, not remembering and pulling the folded piece of paper from pocket, unfolding it and looking over it. "Uhm, Home Economics." She finished, glancing up at the girl, "But that's not till the block after this one. I have a free period right now. They had issues finding what classes to put me in as I've already completed so much at my former school."

Rowan shrugged. It really wasn't big for her. She'd been trained to take care of herself and her pack so she was used to covering for weaker members. It came as second nature to the future alpha trained as an assasin. It was Rowan's turn to tilt her head as the girl spoke of water. "Water? Dear me I fear the one place I lack intelligence is knowing what others are. So I'm sorry I'm going to be rude and ask what kind of supernatural are you?" Now it was Rowan's turn to look sheepish. Having been raised with werewolves who believed other species inferior, Rowan's knowledge of other outside of werewolves and vampires was severely limited. Rowan smirked as Isobel revealed she hadn't met many others and she had plenty of older brothers. "I'm glad I only have one big brother then, but I'll teach you the ways around here. Nobody'll bother you with me around." Rowan said it with an air of finality literally she'd make sure that nothing happened to Isobel if she had to stick by her side at all times.
Rowan waited patiently as the girl checked her schedule. "Well, I'm a senior and I have to get off to calculus, so how about I show you to the library and then I'll pick you back up on my way back through to finance and the market and show you to your home economics class. Here let me give you my phone number and if you have any problems just hit me up with a text." Without even thinking, Rowan popped out her new cell phone and readied herself to begin typing in the number of her new friend.

The young girl blushed when she was asked about her species, quietly twirling a strand of her hair before looking back up at the other, "I take after my ma, I'm a water nymph, though my brother Graeme, as well as the twins are vampires, like my da. My oldest brother is like me though." She explained with a faint blush, pausing before adding, as she walks over to a fountain, turning the water on and waving a hand so some of the water pulled away from the rest, molding into the form of a howling wolf, before freezing it, looking up at the girl, "My power is limited by the water around it. You're a werewolf, are you not? One of the girls in my dorm was one." She stated, before offering the frozen figurine to the girl, "As thanks, for my rescue." She said with a sweet smile before nodding when the girl promised no one would bother her again, before smiling at the other who offered to help her out, before watching the girl pull her phone out, before the young Scot quickly chimed off her cell phone, before looking around, brushing her hair away from her face, "So, where is the library?"

As the girl explained she was a water nymph, Rowan was still a bit confused. The werewolf perked up as she spoke of vampires, now that was something she could understand. Gianni had been her best friend for nearly two years, though they were on the outs now. The girl began to fiddle with the water and Rowan's jaw literally dropped as Isobel produced a wolf replica. "Uh..yeah I am..." She was to shocked to even ask what had given it away. "That's wicked awesome, Isobel." Her green eyes lit up and for the first time in months, Rowan was actually lit up and was happy. Now she knew she wouldn't let Isobel go anywhere. This would be her new best friend no matter what.
Rowan looked at the ice wolf in amazement and yet she didn't know what to do with it. Opening her backpack, she pulled out her lunch bag. "I guess your masterpiece must reside in there until I can get it home and rig some sort of frozen keep display for it. It's truly...awesome. Thank you." The girls proceeded to exchange phone numbers and Rowan shot Isobel a text so she'd have her number in return. "Right this way, chica." Rowan readjusted her bag and began walking down the hall at a faster rate. "You don't want me to be late on my first day back do ya?" Rowan was teasing not even thinking about her word choice. She really liked this new girl and looked forward to showing her around the school. "What's your favorite subject? Mine's math."

The female giggled at the other's obvious confusion about her species, not that she minded. Her species was a bit hard to explain, she herself couldn't always figure it out eithr. So why bother with the others being confused about it as well. She watched as the other's jaw dropped as she quietly created the wolf creature before handing it over, blushing at the description of wicked awesome, "Uhm, thanks. It's nothing really. She blushed, even as she smiled brightly over the compliment, before watching the girl put the figurine into a lunch bag to keep it safe. The young nymph nodded in understanding, "It's flash frozen, it'll hold up for at least fourty eight hours before it disappears," She added for the other's benefit, giggling as she added the girl's contact into her contact list, smiling faintly as she followed , tilting her head when the other said the words 'first day back,' her expression confused, "First day back? Did you go somewhere?" She asked, before blushing and looking, "Sorry, it's not my place to ask." She mumbled in embarrassment before following the girl, tilting her head at the next question, thinking for a moment, "I'm not the best at math, personally, but I enjoy english." She said with a laugh, brushing a hand through her hair, "But the home design classes are my favorite,"

It wasn't often that Rowan was caught off guard by the actions of others. The ability of the girl amazed her and the gift from someone she'd only known for a few minutes. It was astounding to her the generosity of the water nymph. The longer they spent together the more Rowan felt that they could be great friends. The werewolf couldn't think of anything to say other than thanks. As Rowan tucked the wolf into her lunch bag, she nodded at Isobel's words. "I wonder if encasing it in nitrogen would preserve it for longer. I hate to watch such beauty to simply melt back into water again."
As they walked, Rowan accidently let slip that she'd missed quite a bit of school lately. For a moment she struggled to think of an answer before deciding that when she had more time she'd explain the whole thing to Isobel but now was not the time or the place. "Uh. you could say that. It's a really long story, maybe later I'll catch you up on the things that have gone on around here. Just know that things are settling back in now." Rowan shrugged as Isobel backtracked. "I opened the door to the conversation." As they crisscrossed halls, Rowan guiding Isobel to the library, Isobel continued on about her favorite classes. Nodding, Rowan took in all the information and internalized it. Rowan preferred less subjective subjects. In English and Design many things depended on opinion, whereas math and science tended to be more objective. There were fewer answers and they were based on facts. As they came to the grand library, Rowan stopped. "This is where I leave you, my friend, but I'll pick you up and escort you to your next class. Can't have any guys hassling you on your first day? I wouldn't want your brothers descending upon this fair city."

Isobel smiled warmly as she watched the werewolf handle th figurine, giggling at her words and shrugs, "Uhm, I wouldn't know . . . I didn't do well in Chemistry." She giggld with a shug, "If it does melt, I'll just reform it. It doesn't take too long." She added in reassurance. At the comment of the girl having been gone from school for a while it was a startle to see the female sturggling to decide on what to stay, "You don't have to tll me, really." Isobel said with a gentle shrug as they walked to the library, and the female smiled, nodding as she turned to look at her new friend, "One of said brothers is already her, he's my guardian. Though, he might be the worst, considering he left special forces six months ago to take care of me. But at least that's just one, not all four." She laughed with a smile, looking up at her new friend, "I'll meet you here after your next class then." She agreed, playfully shooing her, "Don't go get lost, or late!" She teased before heading into the library.

Rowan grinned. "I do well enough in science I think I can muddle something up. I'd hate for you to have to remake it all the time. No need to waste energy if I can make up some way to hold and display it permanently." It was odd for Rowan to be so amiable lately but she'd learned alot from the people she'd met here in the past year and if the past time she'd spent in a cell had taught her anything it was that she needed people and needed to be nice to them. Besides with her background in math and science, Row could easily figure out some way to preserve the piece.
Rowan lightened up as Isobel tried to reassure her she didn't have to reveal her secret. "Someone's bound to tell you eventually anyway so give me some time to think up how to word it and I'll explain before you start getting the wrong stories. " Rowan nodded curtly effectively to herself ending the conversation. As Isobel spoke of her brothers, Rowan grinned wryly. Her brother sounded like an interesting character. "Brodie was like that for a long time. He's the beta to my alpha. Enforces whatever I act on always at my back till my dad made us go to different schools." Rowan smiled at Isobel. "I'm glad I only have one I can't imagine having four Brodie's leaning over my shoulder and intimidating people. Sounds like you have a good brother there." As much as she liked her friends, Rowan was finding she missed her brother a bit more since she'd gotten out. She was used to him being there for her. As she dropped Isobel off at the library, Rowan smiled and wlaked on to class. "I won't get lost, but don't get too absorbed in those books, I don't want to have to haul you out of the library. It might send that brother of yours after me." Rowan winked and walked off with a lighter step than she'd come to school with. Life was good when you had a friend.

The nymph said with a smile, looking at her new friend as the two walked down the halls, before tilting her head and nodding, "Tell me on your own time, then." She agred, before letting the girl drop the subject, able to tell when something is hard to talk about. She laughed at her next words with a soft smile, "Graeme is . . . an overprotective sort of guy, but I can't fault him on it. He loves me, and he just has a lot of ways to show it." SHe said with a smile before tilting her head, "So, Brodie must be your brother then?' THe nymp asked, alughing softly, "Oh it's hard with all four of my brothers. Luckily three of them are still in Scotland, doing their own stuff. It's just rae and I here." She said with a smile before watching her new friend tease her about the library, blushing before waving her off, "I'll be here. Have fun in class." She stated before heading to a seat, pulling out a piece of paper to sketch.

As they continued to walk and talk, Rowan felt more settled than she had here in awhile. She wished that she hadn't let the cat out of the bag so soon about her missing school, but it might be best for Isobel to know sooner rather than later. Truthfully, the werewolf didn't know how to explain the whole situation to someone who hadn't been around when the kidnapping and attacks had been happening. Rowan could appreciate how Isobel spoke and obviously felt about her brother. It was nice to have people wish to protect you even if they were being overprotective. Rowan nodded and laughed. "Yes, Brodie Liam Townshend is my brother and my best friend in the whole world." As a pack animal, Rowan forged deep bonds with those she forged bonds with and Brodie had always been close to her and therefore despite the time spent apart he was her best friend...and also her most dangerous enemy.
Rowan walked off to class knowing that despite it being a math class she'd be impatient to get back to her new found friend. The time went by quickly though as the class hit the ground running. Thankfully, Rowan had a good background in math and caught up quickly with the math they were doing. As the bell rang, Rowan slipped out of class and came to the library. Easing in, she spied her friend and plopped down beside her. "Ready for the real stuff, Izzy?" Somehow Rowan had already decided that it would be okay to call her new found friend by a nickname. If she minded all she had to do was say so and Rowan would go back to calling her by her given name.

[atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=background,http://oi44.tinypic.com/nn3cl3.jpg][atrb=width,518,true][atrb=height,673,true] The young girl smiled as thy walked, starting to feel comfortable at this school, even if it was nothing like the boarding school she'd felt at home at for years prior. No, Cry Wolf High wasn't like her old boarding school at all, and not just because their were males here. It seemed far less strict, and structured, more like a place for the supernatural teenagers to learn who they are, as well as the material they will need in life. Sh smiled as her new friend explained that the male mentioned was indeed a brother and best friend to the wolf, and the nymph tilted her head curiously, the light reflecting off the soft dusting of freckles across her nose, and resting on her cheek bones just below the wide, innocent dark brown eyes. "It sounds like your brother is very, very important to you. It's good to see such a healthy sibling relationship between two siblings. I know Graeme and I are close, but we've never been that close. He's five years older than I am, and he definitely likes using that in any argument we have. But I know he has good intentions. It will just take some time for us to reknow each other and get close again."
She waved goodbye as Rowan headed to class, before drifting into the room to perch on a sit, sketching out Rowan's features, altering them slightly to give the new friend a more amazon warrior spirit, especially in her wolf-like eyes, before flipping the page to continue working on the image of Graeme. It'd been a scene caught in a photograph she'd taken a few weeks earlier, where he'd just barely glanced back at her so only half his face was visible, and in the low lighting, as well as his darker hair, and clothes, he resembled the Special Forces man he had been. She continued working on getting his hair to fall right, just a slight too long in the front, his eyes deep and mysterious. So many years had passed between she and her brother, she found it almost hard for her to recognize him now. She'd lost track of time while working on the image, startling when her friend soon dropped into the seat next to hers, although she greeted her with a smile, "Izzy? I've not been called that yet, it's americanized and cute. Real stuff? Well, I suppose I'll have to be huh?" She said with a laugh, repositioning her brother's photo so a tip of it was sticking out of the binding of the sketchbook before closing it and placing it back in the bag at her feet. She stood, slinging the bag over one arm, and directed a smile in the direction of the female werewolf, "Well, lead the way, Rowan, you're my guide are you not?" She added with a teasing, sparkling laugh.
