A wry smile crossed Rowan's face as Isobel tried to understand the relationship between Row and her brother. Row wasn't sure she could explain to a non-werewolf the fact that a pack relationship went so much deeper than just family. A pack depended on each other to survive, there was no going anywhere else not with werewolves. Packs didn't just open their doors to anyone they were typically largely structured unit that didn't look kindly on outsiders. "Well, part of that's cause we didn't have any friends outside our packs growing up. Hey, don't worry about your brother and you. You'll get along. Besides, Brodie and I are more than just siblings. He's the future beta and I'm the future alpha. We work like a pack, many members, one soul." She smiled repeating something her mom used to say. They were of one heart even when their brains went different directions. "Brodie's only two years my senior. Not enough difference between us to make up for the difference between us." The werewolf wasn't sure the nymph would understand but it didn't matter.
As Rowan took a peek at the man in the picture, she licked her lips. "You leave that gorgeous hunk of man with a broken heart in Scotland. Izzy you heartbreaker." Rowan was glad that Isobel didn't mind her nickname. It felt good to have nicknames...close in fact. Standing, Rowan tucked a rogue hair behind her ear. "It's now or never, do or die though nobody's going to bother you. Word's already spreading that the crazy werewolf is protecting you, so you shouldn't have any more trouble from the boys. The girls you'll have to handle on your own. I don't fight girls unless it's do or die." With a quick step, Rowan led Isobel into the hallway teeming with fellow students. The werewolf smirked as everyone looked but didn't approach the pair. "I'm your bodyguard, guide, and friend if you'll let me, Izzy." Rowan was sincere as she spoke. As they traversed the halls, Rowan was quiet. "Here we are dear. Can you find your way to the lunchroom or shall I meet you back here?" Really Rowan didn't care either way. She liked crossing back and forth. Getting some exercise again was good for her. Rowan was dying to get back to running which her doctor said she could start next week.

Not that it was a surprise. Family structures worked differently for different species, and she could understand that werewolves, being pack creatures, were likely to have a unique circumstance for their relationships to grow and blossom into what ever they need to be. She smiled, nodding in understanding when the other explained it was part of having no friends outside of their pack. She couldn't relate on that level, but she had four older brothers that started to look like thugs because they helped their da in the fields, and liked to wrestle -- all of this before the age of fifteen. So, yeah, she was well protected and kept an eye on. No one got past the wonder bros. "I'm sure you're right. It'll just take time for us to get to know each other again. |

She stated, leaving it at that before laughing softly, " The twins are two years my senior, Graeme is 22 to my 17, and my oldest brother is 25." She laughed, clasping her hands in front of her chest, looking innocently delighted, " I'm the baby girl in a family of previously all boys. It means I get unbelievably spoiled. All I have to do is pout a little and draw out the word daddy." She declared, smiling. At her new friends words about the picture, Isobel couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head, and shifting the book for Rowan to get a better look at the image, " That's Graeme, actually. I'm not much of the heartbreaker type, nor have I had much experience in dating. Four older brothers, and an all girls school, remember?" The nymph smiled as she walked through the halls, giggling, " Well, I'm glad for your help. I'm a pacifist, I'm afraid. it's hard for any nymph to raise a hand in violence. We're too sweet and even tempered." She said with a soft shrug, pausing as she tried to remember what book that came from, " Or something like that. There's a few books on it. I did some research when I was younger to figure out why I cried at the sight of violence." She explained. When they reached the door, the young girl blinked for a second, before giggling, " Meet me here? I have a terrible sense of direction. I'd advice against ever giving me directions. I do have a good memory though. Show me the way once and I've got it." She stated, laughing, before hearing the two minute bell ring, " I'll see you after class, Rowan. Have fun." She said with a smile and headed inside. " Speech Here" [/div]

Rowan nodded running a hand through black hair. Her ears picked up everything Isobel spoke while her intution went to work figuring out more about the nymph. Whether it was because she was a werewolf or because she'd been taught too, the raven haired girl put a lot of store in instincts and the feelings you got about a person. Isobel was good at heart that much Rowan knew already and she had potential to be Rowan's friend of which Rowan could use. She didn't have any friends anymore it seemed. Many of them had graduated and moved off right after. Between that and the kidnapping, Rowan felt adrift in the world. With no pack around, she felt even more alone. Rowan cringed as Isobel called being future alpha an honor. "I suppose you could call it that. I'd call it...fate perhaps. I was chosen because I'm a black wolf with the right bloodline and a promising temperment. Take color or bloodline away and I'd be just another wolf in the pack." Biting her tongue and gritting her teeth, Rowan chose not to say more. She hadn't meant to dump that much, but the older she got the more she realized that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be being a future alpha. As Isobel spoke of her brothers and her family, Rowan settled back down. Her feelings had been more up and down lately, but she was trying to control them.
Rowan chuckled along with Isobel. The werewolf drunk in the image as Isobel explained that it was her brother that stayed around here. "A good looking girl like you, surely you've broken a few hearts in your time...mayhas your brother just kept them a far. You never snuck out? Dear, I have a lot to teach you about having fun." Rowan was dead serious. Maybe it was the skills she had learned from her family or maybe it was the pressure of always being watched that led her to develop mad skills at sneaking out and disappearing. As they walked, Rowan smiled gently as Isobel said she was a pacifist. Well then, Rowan knew she had to watch out for her. It was the alpha in her that sought to protect the weaker or less willing to fight. "Of course I'll meet you here." Rowan shook her head. "Well at least you have some way to keep up, though I'm pretty good with direction myself. The taller girl smiled at Isobel. "Cause finance is so fun Izzy. Go make something pretty." With a smile and a flouncy curtzy, Rowan was off down the halls. Actually, she enjoyed finance...actually she enjoyed all math and that all finance was to her more math. As she crossed into her classroom, Rowan hoped that Isobel would have a good first class at Cry Wolf High.

Isobel giggled, clearly enjoying the werewolf who she hoped she would be able to become close friends with. Sure she had friends in her old school, but this was a new place, a new start, and that meant a time for new friends. And Rowan definitely seemed like someone she'd enjoy being friends with, as well. She was startled to see the other girl cringe when the alpha talk started, and the nymph quietly tilted her head to the side - as if in question. She didn't have to wait long, though, before the other was explaining, calling it fate, and how she was only chosen because of a few key components. "So, you don't want to be alpha then?" Iso asked, clearly confused about the situation, but as the topic turned to her family, she smiled at the image the 'wolf had pointed out.
She laughed softly with a shrug, "If I ever did leave any broken hearts, I wasn't aware of it. Which might be a good thing. I'd feel undeniably guilty over it." She admitted with a smile, before shaking her head, "Nope, not once did I ever sneak out. I was the good kid. Though, I can't imagine Graeme would be to happy if you were to teach me about this 'fun' of yours. She teased. As she waited with a faint smile, she nodded in relief when Rowan agreed to meet her back here - meaning she hopefully won't get lost on the way to the next class. As she was told to make something pretty, Isobel laughed, nodding before heading into the classroom, shyly introducing herself before sitting down at the desk the teacher pointed to. Her first class. Hopefully it would be a good one.

The sound of the nymph giggling eased the werewolf immensely like a wave of good feelings after a run. The wolf inside was relaxed and had taken kindly and loyally to the beautiful nymph. As Rowan explained about the fate and events that led to her classification as future alpha, she could tell that all she was doing was creating more questions. Questions she wasn't sure she could answer without scaring the nymph off. Would she understand that just being friends with Rowan was something that the pack would be against? How did one explain to someone that the pack ruled everything and cared nothing for individuals? "Yes and no. They are my family and they need a leader, so yes I want to be alpha, I want to help my family, my pack, but well..." She ran a hand through her dark locks and sighed. "Having your life plotted out in black and white all your life makes it rough to accept your fate, especially lately. I don't like the thought of my choices being made for me...not all the time and certainly not in the important things." Rowan shook her head hoping this conversation would come to an end. It was tough on her to explain about her pack, about their rules, and their dislikes of other species. She could never explain to an outsider all the things the pack believed or hated. There was just too much history there.
The wolf was glad as the conversation turned back to Isobel. It was easier to get information than it was to explain about herself. She smiled as Izzy spoke of her brothers. Rowan's own brother had never really had never really had to protect her, in fact, his job was usually protecting her after the fact from herself and her own messes, from the impulsivity she was subject to. The black wolf was given to doing what she wished when she wished and not thinking about the consequences of actions until it was wholly too late to change what had been done. Dark locks fell into her face as she nodded when Isobel spoke of not breaking hearts. A chuckle crept up and escaped as Isobel worried about what her brother would think of her being taught "fun" stuff. The were shrugged and smiled at the same moment. "A girl has to grow up sometime and a life with no fun is a life not lived well. You have to do something wild once in a while otherwise...what will you say when you are old and gray to your offspring. What will they say of you after you are gone? Well, she followed the rules that's for sure." The girl smirked serious in what she spoke but with a laughing heart. "If I can handle my family and their displeasure, I think I'll survive if your brother doesn't like me."
After dropping Isobel off, Rowan hustled off to her own room. Sliding into a seat at the last possible moment, Rowan smiled gently, pulled out her notebook, and listened with rapt attention to the professor. She had so much to catch up on, so much to relearn and relive, but none of that seemed to phase her at the moment. She'd found a new friend, and she was estatic about the prospect of a new friend. As class ended, Rowan was a buzz with energy, she packed her things hurriedly and rushed from class. Looking only forward, she nearly ran over a freshman as she turned down the hallway that led to Isobel's classroom. Without stopping, the werewolf whirled around the obstacle and continued on at a jog. Halting at the door, she looked for the nymph upon seeing her the wolf sidled over and stood by her shoulder. "Ready for lunch? Well I should say what this institution calls food? How was class? Was everyone nice to you?" The wolf tried to calm herself but she was bursting with energy and the need to keep her new friend happy.
