Trevor sighed and closed his eyes as Addison started the bidding, merely shaking his head as one person challenged her, only to think better of his choices and to back off. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration as the horse bolted back out of the arena and headed for the hills. He hoped they had some strong guys in the back.
His head snapped up as Addison finally snapped back at him, eyes shooting daggers right back at her equally angry eyes. He didn’t care if he was being unreasonable. He didn’t care if she was pissed because he was being unreasonable. Which, he actually wasn’t being unreasonable at all. She had shown up at his office door, hadn’t told him anything except that this horse was one that had been sold from her family farm, and expected him to just go along with everything without complaint. He had driven 45 minutes to this auction for her, to get this horse, just to find that it was a maniac that could potentially hurt one or both of them. Then he saw it, a few tears trickle down her face and his anger fell away instantly. ”Addison, I-“ but before he could finish she turned and ran out of the stands. He was too stunned to move, he simply stared after her. When she was out of sight he sighed and put his head in his hands. Why him? How had he gotten into this situation? He knew he wasn’t being fair to her. About the horse, well, yeah. But that really wasn’t why he was pissed. He was pissed because she had left him in a hurry for some Sam kid. He had no right to be pissed, she wasn’t even his, even though he would love for her to be. He had finally admitted it to himself, no matter how bad of a fact it was. Not to mention he didn’t even know who Sam was. He could be a brother or some family member that she was really close to. Nothing said that he was her boyfriend. With another sigh he stood up and started after her. He had to fix this entire mess. He could only guess she had headed for the stalls where the sold horses were kept.
It was quiet. Too quiet. He walked down the stalls, looking in at horses that were standing either dozing or munching on hay. He knew for a fact that if they had managed to get Romeo into a stall he would’ve been tearing around and creating all the noise he could. Yet it was quiet. He frowned as he continued, hoping that nothing had gone wrong. As he came around the corner, he spotted Addison standing by the horse who was standing in a stall, kicking and swishing his tail in irritation. Yet there was something not right about him, and Trevor realized that the horse was shaking and his head was drooping. Anger flared as he realized they probably sedated the horse. He hated the idea of them injecting drugs into this beautiful horse. Then he realized that Addison wasn’t alone. A male was standing in front of Addison, and she did not look happy. He moved back around the corner and listened to their conversation, frowning at Addison’s remarks. Mother? So, was James her brother? And what did she mean he ‘gave up the right to care’ about her? He really wished she would tell him what the fuck was going on here.
Trevor peered around the corner when Addison told James to leave and took a few steps forward when instead he reached a hand to her. He started to hurry forward, not sure what James would do to her or if he was even dangerous. When Addison screamed and spun around, sending water flying towards James’ face, Trevor froze and stared with wide eyes at the small line of blood that trickled down his cheek. He had known Addison wasn’t human, but he had never known exactly what she was. Now he thought of all of her features that hadn’t stuck out to him before this, her slightly pointed ears being the biggest one. She was a water nymph. He wondered why she had never used her powers around him before.
Mentally shaking himself, he covered the rest of the distance and stood beside Addison, wrapping a protective arm around her waist and pulling her closer to him and fixing a glare on James. ”You heard the lady, she wants you to leave. I would suggest you follow her orders, or it won’t be pretty for you.” Hazel eyes tinged with red stared at the male, daring him to challenge him. When James backed off and walked away, Trevor placed his hands on Addison’s shoulders and turned her to him. ”Addison, I’m so sorry for how I’ve been acting. I didn’t… I didn’t mean to make you cry. I’m just so frustrated, because I…” he trailed off, shaking his head and sighing. ”Let’s get Romeo in the trailer and away from this place.” He glanced at Romeo, noticing the gelding was still pretty alert even with the drugs in his system. ”Perhaps you should lead him, he’ll remember you.”

She stood there, staring at James who looked between her, Trevor, and the arm possessively wrapped around her waist. She placed a shaking hand that rested on her wet waist, suddenly quite aware that this was the second time she got soaked around him and this time, she was wearing a dress that clung to her curves. With a pained look, James finally sighed and turned away, shoving his hands in his pockets. Addison let loose a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding. Trevor’s hand moved to her should, turning her gently to him. She allowed the motion, but did look up at him. She bit her lip at his words, unsure what she should do. He sighed and turned to looked at the drugged horse. Addison felt more tears prick her eyes. The poor horse had gone through so much that he didn’t deserve. Addison nodded her head and slipped through the panels, moving slowly. The horse followed her every move, ears pinned. She called softly to him and his ear twitched, tail lashing as she approached. She stopped abruptly as the stallion lifted his head and looked at her with hostile eyes. She stood still, aware of just how much damage he could deliever with one kick and that while he was drugged, his reflexes were not all that dulled. She bit her lip, worrying it between her teeth before she remembered. She would sing around him when he was a baby and they would bottle feed him. Addison worked her brain to bring up a familiar tune he might know, just enough to lull him. Even if he remembered her, it would not be easy to bring this horse around. Addison began to hum and slowly turned her body sideways to him, keeping an eye on him in her peripheral vision, but turned enough so as not to be a threat. The movement surprised him and his ears loosen from their flattened position for a brief moment. Then slowly one ear turned to catch her voice. He was suddenly in a trance, one ear flat, but the other perked straight forward, and his eyes were only for her. Addison smiled softy and took a tiny step diagonally forward and away from him. Like a charm, it worked. Her movement caught his attention and he took once tiny step mirroring her own. Seeing some tension leave his body, she took yet another step backward and he responded with two of his own. This little dance continued, showing Addison’s horse prowess for the first time. Finally, Romeo was within reach. She reached for his lead rope slowly, humming all the same. She grasped the rope and he tossed his head suddenly, the trance broken. She shuffled to the end of the lead, but didn’t pull her with him. He braced against the pressure for a few minutes and then finally relented, but kept his distance. Addison looked at Trevor to open the gate. [atrb=border,0,true][style=width:325px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 12px; color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding-right: 15px] Trevor glanced at Addison out of the corner of his eye, unable to stop himself from taking in the curves of the teenager. All of those beautiful curves. The wet dress seemed to cling to every nook and cranny of her body. Mentally shaking himself he turned back to James, the red ice returning to his eyes. He watched James’s retreating back until the figure was gone, and with a sigh of relief he turned to Addison, noticing that she didn’t meet his eyes. When she didn’t respond to him, he merely sighed and look towards the horse.
He watched as she moved towards the horse, tensing himself to be ready in case Romeo tried anything stupid. The last thing he wanted was for Addison was for her to get hurt. It seemed he had done enough of that to her in the past few hours. He needed to talk to her and get to her to understand why he acted the way he did. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Yeah, he needed to tell her, and yet he was risking so much by even thinking about telling her. Besides, he sucked at mushy gushy stuff. He pulled himself out of his head as he realized that Addison was humming to the stallion. He watched in awe as the horse responded to her instantly, calming and even following her as she walked away from him. He held his breath when Romeo flung his head in the air when Addison grabbed the lead rope, willing the horse to behave and not harm either of them. He nodded and slowly opened the gate for Addison, slowly backing away as not to spook Romeo. He moved away slowly, moving his way up the stalls and towards the trailer. He couldn’t help smiling at the looks of disbelief as Addison led Romeo up the aisle without many problems except for a few pulls on the lead rope. As Trevor reached the trailer he unlatched the door and swung it open slowly, standing at the end of it to hold it open. This would be the hardest part of this entire ordeal.

At one point she tried to stop humming, but Romeo balked, shoving hooves into the ground and refusing to move an inch. She sighed and began humming, not moving an inch until he had relaxed and was willing to follow her retreating form. The trailer soon loomed ahead and the minute Romeo spotted it, he balked with a snort. Addison kept a safe distance from him, but didn’t give him a chance to sit back against the rope. Suddenly the horse’s attention was turned to the girl on the other end of the lead line that wasn’t leaving him alone. He pinned his ears, angry with her. He wanted to be alone. He gave a halfhearted lunge at her, but she called his bluff. And did what none had done before. She stepped towards him fast and wouldn’t back away from him despite all his clumsy attempts at warning her off. His clumsy hooves wouldn’t cooperate and he couldn’t move fast enough, so he stood fast in an effort to not fall. He was more vulnerable down than standing still. She stopped. The girl on the end of the rope stopped. Addison stared at the stallion, panting with the frantic pace he’d put her through. But that was part of the training her family did. He didn’t even realize that he was mere feet from the metal contraption that had been so scary before. Hoping he remembered some of the training he’d received from her before being sold, she stepped behind his driveline and pointing with her finger. He tensed, then took a step forward and she lowered her hand, taking the pressure off him. He walked a few more steps, pausing. She again lifted her finger, turning her body to face him fully. He pinned his ears, but complied with wobbly steps. She smiled. Even beaten, starved, and distrusting, he still trusted her enough to behave like a traumatized horse. She could handle an animal like this, not the raging creature in the arena. ”That’s a good boy. My Romes is in there,” she crooned with a strong voice. She would not tiptoe around him like a scared person. He needed to know she was boss and not afraid. Even if she was quaking inside. She waited until Romeo was facing the trailer and she position herself to put him between the trailer door and herself. She pointed at the trailer and tightened the lead. Romeo pinned his ears and planted his hooves. Addison pressed harder, kissing softly to him and swing the little lead line she had. He didn’t budge until Addison gave the end a flick to lightly tap his flank. She was waiting for the kick from him. She’d been well out of reach. But with the quick his balance was upset, so she pressured him more and he gave in, looking for the release he’d learned in those few minutes. He leaped into the dark gloom of the trailer with faltering feet, the rope thrown over his back as he bolted inside. Addison ran to Trevor and helped him clothes the door quickly. She would not be sticking her hand in there to tie him up. Addison pressed her forehead against the cool metal of the trailer and released a shaky breath and shaking hands. Trevor stood back as Addison coaxed Romeo into the trailer, swinging the door shut quickly behind him. He leaned against the trailer, gazing through the gaps at the horse pawing and snorting in the trailer. He sighed and shook his head. ”Addison, I don’t know what the hell just happened back there or what the hell the story is behind the horse. I don’t want to be an ass to you anymore, but I just sure as hell hope there was a good reason behind everything that happened today and it wasn’t all for nothing. Now let’s get back to the stable, I have a feeling it’s going to be a long ride.” He climbed in the truck, wincing as Romeo neighed in anger and kicked the side of the trailer. When Addison was secured beside him, he started the engine and slowly pulled out of the parking lot, hoping that the less rocking motion the trailer made, the quieter Romeo would stay.
As they made their way slowly down the road, Trevor glanced at Addison. He was so curious, he only wanted answers. He wanted to know if all of this was worth it, or if he was wasting his time helping her. ”Addison… Can you tell me anything? Anything to help me understand more about your situation and why we drove all the way out here to get this neglected, crazy ass horse. I just want some answers, and to know if…” he trailed off, biting his tongue and looking out the side mirror at the trailer that was rocking a bit more than it should be on this road. He cringed internally, hoping his trailer would survive the drive home.

This was a horrible idea. A horrible, stupid, idiotic idea. She didn’t have time to work with a horse like Romeo, even if he wasn’t abused. She had to worry about graduating as fast as she could so she could get full custody of Sam. But Addison would not be able to live with herself if someone had bought the horse with anything less than the best of intentions. She knew that there was someone in the audience bidding on the horses for something no one in the United States wanted part of. She followed Trevor’s lead and slipped into the truck, struggling out of her wet leather jacket. She hung it over the back of the seat to hopefully let it dry a bit faster. She winced with each shudder the trailer gave from Romeo’s anger. She kept her eyes glued to the side view mirror, watching the trailer bounce around. She flinched away from Trevor’s words; it was a habit, Addison never talked about her personal life to anyone, not even the counselors at school. She could barely handle talking to the many people who worked her and Sam’s case. But she did owe Trevor an explanation. And maybe a new trailer after this ride. ”Romeo is the last thing I have to remember my father by. He was my birthday present when I turned fourteen. I hand raised him from birth; his mother was an older, sickly mare and the stable who had him where not in the best of shape. The only reason we have a horse like him, an Akhal-Teke, was because of their inability to care for an orphaned foal.” Addison sighed and ran her fingers through her damp hair, working out the knots carefully in an effort to avoid looking up at Trevor. ”My father’s death had been sudden and James hadn’t been trained properly in the running of a stable. An eighteen year old boy is more interested in girls and running off to college with his friends than taking over the family business.” She really didn’t want to say much more. She turned her body away from Trevor, her mind slowly fading into the dark pit that plagued her. ”If you go faster, he’ll be more worried about not falling over than destroying the trailer. “ She stated quietly, thinking of the drugs that still fogged the horse’s mind. Trevor sat watching the road and listing to Addison’s story. He glanced at her a few times, seeing that it was hard for her to actually be telling him all of this. His eyes widened when she mentioned her father’s death. He could sympathize with her on this. Sure, his parents weren’t actually dead, but they might as well have been. He hadn’t seen or heard from them since the day they kicked him out after he had been bitten. If you go faster, he’ll be more worried about not falling over than destroying the trailer. He chuckled quietly and pressed the accelerator, realizing that she was probably right. He didn’t speed up much though, not wanting to harm Romeo.
He glanced over at Addison, noticing how she was basically trying to melt into the door. He frowned and sighed, running a hand through his hair. ”I’m sorry Addison, for everything that you have been through… I want you to remember that I know what it’s like to lose your parents… I haven’t seen mine or been in contact with them since they kicked me out. I mean, hell, they might as well be dead… So if you ever need anyone for anything, I’m here for you. You know where you can always find me. He glanced at Addison, catching her gaze and smiling, placing a hand on her leg for a few seconds before pulling it away and focusing his attention back on the road. He only hoped Addison wouldn’t run screaming for the hills since he was now making it so painfully obvious that he had more feelings for her than just a simple friendship. He still felt like there was so much about this girl that he had no clue about, but he was willing to wait around for her to let him in on her life. He glanced back at the trailer which had ceased its rocking. He had a feeling they were in for a wonderful time when they got back to the stable.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd509/i1vet2b/Addisontable1middle_zps2c0801e3.jpg]Addison forced her body to relax at Trevor’s apology. Even if he really didn’t need to say as he had nothing to do with what happened to her family, it still soothed her he cared about her past enough to truly feel it. Addison bit her lip, wondering why she suddenly yearned so much for him to know, to understand why. It wasn’t just because he had helped her find her Romeo again. If that was the case, she could have just told him the first part of why Romeo was so special to her. She did have to tack on that last bit about her father’s death and James’ inability to run the farm. It was a given obviously that her father was dead if she said Romeo was all she had left of him. Addison turned her attention back to Trevor as he spoke of his own parents. That’s right...he knew, in a way, what she went through. There were obviously subtle differences, like she was still in school and now had a little brother to look after. But the fact Trevor was willing to talk to her about made her stomach do little flips and the hand that touched her leg for a moment made her heart race. Her breath ceased for a moment and she stared at the dashboard in a stupor. What was happening to her? She should be worried that the touch, which had obviously meant something more, had sparked such a reaction in her. Trevor was openly laying down an olive branch of sorts, trying to reach out to her. She had never before really noticed the stirring feelings within her. She had always passed off the little butterflies and the blushings as simple physical attraction. It was no secret that Trevor was devilishly handsome. She heard it enough from the students who took lessons and shared classes with her. But now that she thought about it, her thoughts had hardly strayed from Trevor since they first met. Any free time she had that was not focused on Sam or school was on Trevor. She should be worried and running away; this relationship shouldn’t even be thought of as an option. A student and a teacher? But as she thought about it, she found her subconscious coming up with arguments to validate the relationship as possible. One, she was of legal age even if her educational status was that of someone younger than her. Two, he technically wasn’t a teacher because the ‘class’ he taught was not an actual class. Three, she wasn’t his student as she didn’t take any lessons and quite frankly she was sure she didn’t need them unless she planned on switching to English riding. Romeo was far from ready for being ridden and she was sure any lessons the stable offered were not about breaking in and training a horse, especially one like Romeo. Addison shook her head, dispelling her thoughts. She was thinking of a relationship between them, yet there wasn’t even one. Yet? Addison glanced from the corner of her eyes towards Trevor as he looked in the mirror to the stable trailer behind them. Could there be one? Was he trying to say he wanted one? Heck, Addison wasn’t going to stop him, but she wasn’t going to go after it with guns blazing either. She wasn’t like that herself, having never been in any relationship of the slightest before. Addison looked into the sideview mirror as well, trying to calm her thoughts. She wouldn’t chase after it, but… She wouldn’t hinder it either… ”He left,“ she whispered towards the end of their ride. It had taken her that long to get the courage to let him in again. ”For the past two years...James could have been dead for all I knew. He abandoned us to the vultures. That’s why...I just...he’s caused to much pain for me to ever look at him the same way.” Her hand gripped the dogtags she always wore. She fought the idea of James coming back into her life, because he had changed. He wasn’t the same James that had gone to war, the same James she wore the tags for in hopes that that James would one day come back. But she doubted she could ever look at him long enough to see if he truly had changed or not. She had, in the end that’s what it came down to. She had changed and still was and James would not like the new her. Words: 752 Notes: okay…I think I got this xD Outfit: CLICK!Tune: <3 Tag: Trevor/LOVEYY

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:325px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 13px; color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding-right: 15px] As the school loomed into view ahead of them, his gaze was drawn back to the tiny nymph as she spoke again. He left. For the past two years…James could have been dead for all I knew. He abandoned us to the vultures. That’s why…I just…he’s caused to much pain for me to ever look at him the same way. A small part of his mind was joyous that she was actually opening up to him. The rest of him was angry. Angry that James had left her and had caused her so much heartache. He wanted to turn around and go back to the auction just to track him down and teach him a lesson. He noticed that she was playing with something around her neck… Dog tags? More to add to the story. He sighed quietly, he would just have stick around to figure out the rest of the story.
Trevor looked around as they approached the school. It would be completely dark by the time they got to the stable and actually had Romeo unloaded. He prayed that they could get him unloaded quietly enough so they wouldn’t cause a scene and have the administration after his ass. He flashed his ID at the gate and as he pulled through he thought he heard the thump of hoof against metal. So it started. He took the back roads around the outside of the campus to the stable, biting his tongue at every sound of hoof against metal. ”There is no way we’re going to get him into a stall tonight. I’m just going to have to back the trailer into the pasture and let him run loose tonight.” He pulled up by the pasture, ”Could you hop out and open the gate? Then when I back the trailer in push the gate tight against the trailer so he has no way of running out of the pasture. The last thing I want to do tonight is chase a psycho horse around campus tonight. And Addison,” He caught her gaze and held it, ”I’m sorry about James. Really, I am.” He blinked a few times and looked away as Addison jumped out of the truck. Man, he had it bad.
When Addison had opened the gate he back the trailer in, being sure it as close to the far side of the gate. He put the truck in park and jumped out, walking over to stand by Addison as she pulled the gate against the trailer. ”I’m gonna open the trailer and just let him run. He has nowhere to go but in now.” Trevor climbed the fence and braced himself before throwing open the trailer door and diving out of the way as 700 pounds of shimmering horse almost ran his ass over. Just as quickly Trevor was up the fence and out of the pasture. He stood by Addison as they watched Romeo tear around the pasture, thankfully not making too much noise. Trevor sighed, ”Well, at least tonight’s work is done.” He glanced up at the moon which was half full, golden eyes shimmering red as his inner wolf begged to be freed for a night time run, but Trevor suppressed him. He had other matters to take care of tonight. He glanced at Addison and stopped, taking in the way the moonlight shimmered off of her perfect skin, making her seem to almost sparkle beneath the light. Everything else was forgotten from his mind. The crazy horse running around in the pasture, how angry he had been at her earlier in the day, the fact that he still had the truck running… In the background he could hear the sounds of a song playing on the radio. I can’t live without you, I can’t live without you, baby.. Almost as if in a trance, Trevor lifted his hand and brushed his thumb down Addison’s cheek. The highway don’t care if you’re all alone, but I do, I do… ”Addison, you’re so beautiful…” Trevor breathed, and not thinking twice he brought his lips to hers, closing his eyes in bliss to finally have what he had wanted ever since he saw her that first day.

She thought back to the auction house, playing James’ pain expression. He had grown since she last saw him. He was taller, much taller than her father. But then again they were only half siblings. He was handsome and she knew back where ever he called home he had a pretty girl waiting for him. He’d had a ring on his left hand now that she was calm and thinking about it. It pained her to think he moved on, but she knew part of him didn’t. He wouldn’t have contacted her if he had. She looked at Trevor as he spoke of stallion Romeo. Addison stared at him like he was a madman. Stall Romeo? But he was smart. There was no way they’d get Romeo in a stall a month from now. She glanced at the pasture as Trevor pulled the truck around, hoping the fences were strong enough and high enough to hold the horse. She nodded as she moved to open the door, but her name on his lips caused her to look back at him and his gaze held her fast. Her heart leaped into her throat and she swallowed. ”I’m sorry about James. Really, I am.” She blushed a bright red and nodded, quickly darting out the truck and to the gate. Her fingers shook as she undid the latch and swung it open. She held the gate with a tight grip and waited for Trevor to back through it. Her heart was still racing, thinking of his handsome face and those stormy eyes. She heard the truck shift into park and the door open. She quickly closed the gate as Trevor spoke, climbing over the fence. She held up a hand in protest, but didn’t speak. She winced as the underweight horse exploded through the trailer door with an angry snort. Addison grasped Trevor’s hand as he just barely managed to vault over the fence to avoid being trampled. Romeo raced around the pasture, finding his bearings. Addison tightened her grip on Trevor’s hand as she took in his form. They had such a long way to go. Trevor spoke and his words made Addison relax, they were safe now and Romeo was here to stay, for now. Addison didn’t let go of Trevor’s hand as she watch Romeo’s exhausted form finally settle down to trotting the fences. He apparently liked the spacious pasture because he didn’t try to jump the fence, not that she really expected him to without anything to truly provoke him. Romeo stopped, bowing his neck and raising his tail, letting a stallion bellow escape his throat. He smelled other horses and Addison waited for more vocalization, but the stallion was quiet after his one outburst. He settled to walking the pasture’s fence line. Addison became aware of eyes on her and that she still held Trevor’s hand. At some point she’d laced her fingers with his. She heard the soft sound of the radio and suddenly she couldn’t take her eyes off the man standing beside her. His hand lifted to touch her cheek, his thumb running down the length of it. His words didn’t bring a blush to her cheeks this time. Her eyes darted to his lips then back up to his eyes, her tongue flicking out lick her lips in anticipation. She closed her eyes as he lowered his head to brush his lips against hers. A shock ran down her spine and after a second of hesitation, she leaned into the kiss, rising on her toes to get closer to him. ------------------------------------------- A little over two weeks had passed since Romeo had first been brought here. And boy had that been two weeks. Addison came out every morning bright and early to feed the stallion and check on him. She worked with getting the stallion used to her presence first. Over the two weeks, she quickly discovered he openly showed aggression to any male that came within ten feet of him. Addison worried he might actually try to crash through the fence in an effort to get to someone. He had finally attempted to jump the fence this morning when she was in class. But he wasn’t a trained jumper and the fence, to Addison’s relief, was higher than she originally thought. Looking at the buckskin right now in the afternoon sunshine, she could see he was certainly feeling the after effects of his attempted jail break. The stallion moved stiffly and slowly and took every liberty to stay far away from the more active areas of the fence line. She’d also come to find out the stallion, while dangerous and unpredictable to everyone else, pretty much just watched her. She liked to believe their brief meeting and dominance battle at the auction house had earned her some respect form the stallion, but she knew better than to trust a horse like him. Abused and angry at the world. The stallion was staring at her with his sharp amber eyes as she sat on the fence watching him. His ears were slightly pinned at her scrutiny and he appeared to be debating walking forward to the black tub just to her right. He was debating if food was really worth being in such close proximity to her. She turned her attention back to her notebook, knowing he’d eventually get hungry enough. Yesterday it had taken two hours for him to decide the food was too big a temptation to pass up. That had been at a distance of five feet away from her. But he’d not paid attention to her at all once his face was shoved in the food. Classic male, win his heart through his stomach. She thrust an ear bud in her ear, leaving the other empty to listen to her surroundings. She flipped through her songs until she came to the one she wanted. She fought a blush as she remembered exactly what the song had led to that night. She began to read over her notes, humming softly to herself. After a few minutes when the song switched, she heard footsteps in the brief silence between songs. She kept her head down but looked up from behind her bangs as grass rustled. Romeo stood a mere ten feet from her and looked like he’d been standing there for a while. Her pencil froze and hovered over her note book. The song changed into a more upbeat song and Romeo’s ears perked forward to catch the tune before pinning in annoyance. She discretely moved her hand to change back to the previous song and watched with awe as the stallion relaxed slightly to the smoother song. It had worked at the auction before. Maybe it would work again? She began to hum along with the song and watched as the stallion’s sore muscles relaxed further. His mouth softened and his eye whites slowly disappeared. She put the song on repeat and after a second run through, she began to sing hoping to draw him even closer. ”I can’t live without you, baby,” she whispered and like magic, the stallion closed the distance between them without a second thought. He attacked the grain with gusto and was finished with his food quickly. Addison wished she could just pour feed into him, but she knew too much at one time would make him colic, especially in his underweight condition. He wasn’t happy with the miniscule amount of grain, but his health was stable and Addison could visibly see a difference. His hips weren’t so prominent now. She waited with baited breath as a student walked by talking, but the stallion remained close, content to graze mere feet from her. She put her pencil down to watch him move, taking in each step carefully. He didn’t appear too injured from this morning. A little sore obviously and a few scratches, but no limping and no large lumps on his thin, delicate legs. Addison smiled as she looked back to her book and began to read her notes once more. One step at a time. ”speech“ Words: 1374 Notes: don’t hit me over the length xD Outfit: use your imagination xD Tune: <3 Tag: Trevor/LOVEYY

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:325px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 13px; color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding-right: 15px] She hadn’t let go of his hand. He had realized this much later, and it brought him comfort. He had been afraid that he had forced himself on her, after all, he had started the kiss and she had seemed to simply follow. But no, she had wanted it too… Right? He sighed and stabbed the pitchfork he was holding through some soiled bedding and tossed it roughly into the wheelbarrow resting outside the stall. His white tank top was soaked with sweat as Trevor attempted to work off his problems, but it wasn’t working. He hadn’t really seen much of her since that night and it worried him. He had thought there was some chemistry between them and now it seemed like she was avoiding him. He didn’t want it to be this way. He didn’t want to be the bad guy that had forced himself on her, and… Oh God. Perhaps taken her innocence when she hadn’t wanted it taken. He stabbed another forkful of bedding into the wheelbarrow, half of it overshooting and falling on the floor outside the stall. ”Well, fuck…” he grumbled as he grabbed a shovel grumpily and cleaned up the extra mess he had made. He needed some air.
He walked down the aisle and out the doors, taking off his gloves and leaning against the side of the barn with a sigh. All he wanted was to be happy. He hadn’t asked to have feelings for this girl. If he had had a say in it, he wouldn’t have any feelings for her. But fate had a cruel sense of humor when it came to him, it seemed. He refused to let himself think of the “l” word. He had thought of it, before that night had happened. He was trying not to think of her at all. Her name, her scent, her touch, that night... He turned the radio off whenever that song came on. Now he realized that he may have perhaps made the dumbest mistake possible. She could very well have him fired if she really wanted to.
But she had held onto his hand. That thought continued to buzz around in his brain. If she hadn’t felt anything, why didn’t she let go of his hand? She had been the one to take it in the first place. She had seemed just as caught up in the moment as he had been. Was that all it had been, a moment?
Trevor sighed and rubbed his eyes. He had one massive headache. He looked down over the pastures, his gaze coming to rest on a figure sitting on one of the fences. Well, speaking of the devil. He watched her, realizing she was working with Romeo. The horse had been a big nuisance since coming to the stable. His attempt at jumping the fence had ended badly, and had the administration raising eyebrows and shaking their heads at Trevor, embarrassing him greatly. He hadn’t really known what to tell them. What could he? ‘Hey, I drove one of the students all the way out to the auction just to buy this horse and then ended up doing the unmentionable with her by the field.’ Yep, that would’ve sounded great. So he had lied and said he was a project horse. Quite the project he was.
But he had to figure out what was going on with him and Addison. He couldn’t stand his mind always working and trying to figure this relationship out. If you could call it a relationship. So he started towards the pasture, trying to gain his composure. She couldn’t avoid him forever, especially if he confronted her. He stopped a few yards away from her, watching her work with Romeo. He heard her speak to him, but couldn’t quite catch the words, his eyes widening a bit as Romeo approached and ate food that was a few feet away from Addison, not even moving when a student walked by talking loudly. This was the most progress he had seen in the stallion since they had brought him to the stable. Perhaps there was hope for him yet.
Trevor approached quietly, but was sure to make a bit of noise so Romeo knew he was approaching. He had realized that Romeo wasn’t quite fond of men and had learned to keep his distance the first day the stallion was there. ”Hey, Addison.” Trevor said quietly, coming to a stop next to her at the fence and resting his arms on the fence, catching her gaze and studying her features. All he wanted were answers. ”We need to talk.”

Her heart had begun to race in response to his presence, her body always reacting before she was aware of his presence. The words blurred together on her paper and the concentration she had once prided herself in evaporated into non-existence. Her hand clenched her pencil tightly and her breathing increased. She’d been avoiding this moment for a while now; she had never before been interested in a relationship. She’d been young before Sam became her number one priority, and more focused on the horses. She had no idea how dating actually went in real life, but she knew it wasn’t exactly normal for a girl to hand her virginity over to a guy she’d just met. Especially if she didn’t actually regret it.
She was avoiding him because she didn’t know where to go from here.
Romeo snorted from his position in front of her and Addison became aware of approaching footsteps. His approach was short, revealing he’d been standing much closer to her than she originally thought. The buckskin stallion pinned his ears and lashed his tail before moving off stiffly. Addison sighed, knowing that she’d no longer hold the horse’s attention until tomorrow afternoon when she actually had time to work with him. Mornings were always rushed for her. He spoke her name and she inclined her head towards him, reaching up to take the earbud out of her ear and turning the ipod off. His eyes searched her face and she couldn’t help but look up. She couldn’t look away and back down now that he held her gaze. Did he have any idea what his gaze did to her? She bit her bottom lip, worrying it nervously with her teeth before packing her stuff up. She climbed off the fence, glancing at Romeo’s distant figure.

Trevor watched her as he approached and saw her visibly stiffen as he drew closer. He frowned in confusion, not sure which way to take her reaction. He couldn’t help but think it was bad, considering she had been ignoring him and all. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He only wanted answers. He would ask her what was going on and then leave her be. He couldn’t stand being lost and confused. He hoped she would make him feel better and not put him back to square one. He really thought they had something between them.
Trevor watched as the stallion pinned his ears and made his way to the other side of the paddock. Trevor wondered how long it would take for the stallion to get used to him. Probably never. Not that Trevor really cared if he did or not, it was Addison’s responsibility. If she wanted nothing to do with him, he wanted nothing to do with her or this horse. He sighed and approached, voicing his presence to her. When she simply packed up her stuff and jumped down off of the fence, he stepped in her path. He wouldn’t let her leave until she answered his questions.
”I see things are going well with Romeo. Sorry I had to spoil that for you..” He glanced at buckskin standing at the other end of the field. He really was a beautiful horse and he hoped Addison made progress with him. He still didn’t know everything, he knew that.. But he hoped she would give him the chance to learn.
”Look, Addison, I’m not going to beat around the bush. I need to know what’s going on between us. I thought… I thought there really was something between us. I’m being completely honest with you. And now you’ve been avoiding me and I just… I’m just really confused. I’m terribly sorry if I forced you into doing something you didn’t want, and if that’s the case, just say the word and I will leave you be.”

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd509/i1vet2b/Addisontable1middle_zps2c0801e3.jpg] She frowned when Trevor blocked her path as she climbed off the fence. She was avoiding him, yes, but she wasn’t going to run away. Did he really think tha- What did the man know about her? Hardly a damn thing, so she really couldn’t blame him. She adjusted her bag hanging from her shoulder as she turned to look at the stallion standing in the far corner.
”Yea, I guess. Someone did a number on him. I hope he didn’t cause too much damage to the fence this morning.” She didn’t really want to bring up the taboo subject that Romeo should not be here. He was far from a lesson horse, the horse was barely even considered publicly safe. Okay, maybe not even close to that. But at least he hadn’t gotten loose and harmed anybody. Honestly he was calm around her and had taken an obvious tolerance to females. His abuser had been male obviously. ”He’ll get over it. You haven’t done a thing to him, once he learns its okay to trust again, he’ll switch to ignoring you rather than showing his annoyance.”
Annoyance? Yea right, the horse was a down right wreck and Addison was not sure she’d be able to help, even with the progress she was making. She still had to find Dual Ray. At least with her, the mare would be useful for something other than getting Romeo back to normal.
She fought the urge to wince when Trevor spoke her name. His tone was different and automatically she knew what he wanted to talk about. She sighed, running a hand through her hair as she fought for a proper answer. ”I’m…not good at this. I’ve never even thought of boys before this. I guess it’s because I’m a water nymph, it kind of a thing for us to be...reserved.” She glanced at Trevor before her gaze fell to her feet. Her hands reached up to touch the dog tags hidden beneath her shirt. ”Lately people have the tendency to run off on me. I...was avoiding you because I didn’t know what to do and honestly, I was waiting for you to not look at me again. James didn’t.” She was silent for a while before she finally took a deep breath and looked up. ”You did not force me and the last thing I want is for you to leave.”

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:325px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 13px; color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding-right: 15px] Trevor followed Addison’s gaze out to Romeo. I hope he didn’t cause too much damage to the fence this morning. Trevor chuckled a bit at the memory of him running and cursing down to the fence where Romeo had attempted to escape this morning. ”Well, I had thought the fence would’ve done more damage to him, but he looks like he’s alright. The fence only had a few dings in it, easy fixer upper.” It felt natural to stand there and have a conversation with Addison. He only hoped she felt the same way. He turned his attention back to the matter at hand with a sigh. Frankly, he was scared shitless that she might refuse him and blame him for ruining her innocence. He spoke, explaining himself and watching her expression. He nodded when she explained about being reserved, but he had already guessed that. He didn’t think complete avoidance fell under the category of “reserved.” I was waiting for you to not look at me again. James didn’t. There he was again. James. He seemed to always be popping up in Addison’s life even though she said he had walked out on them. He still had so many questions about that situation, but now was not the time for them. You did not force me and the last thing I want is for you to leave. Trevor blinked a few times before a wide grin spread over his face. Before he thought about it he had scooped up Addison in a hug and spun her around, laughing at the relief he felt. He set her down, still laughing. ”Oh Addison, you have no idea how relieved I am. I’m glad you want me to stick around. You have no idea…” Count ;; 292 Tag ;; Annie&Addie Notes ;; yayy for happiness. Tunes ;; lalala |
