He twirled them around, his booming laughter vibrating within his chest and even hers. It sent shivers down her spine, but she found that she wanted to hear again and again. She let loose a soft giggle of her own as he set her down. Her balance was a tad offset; her hand remained pressed against his bicep to steady her. A warm feeling settled in her chest as he spoke and she couldn’t help but smile brilliantly at him. She had always been so reserved after the tragedy that struck her family. Mostly because she was afraid that if she didn’t watch every single feeling, they would creep into her facial expressions too easily. She never had a poker face and her father and brother had always been able to read her thoughts; sometimes before she even thought them herself. But around Trevor, it was slightly easier to get lost in the feelings she’d held at bay for so long as well as immerse herself in the new ones she’d never once experienced. She wrapped her arms around his midsection and rested her head against his chest. She smiled against the fabric of his shirt. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Addison fished through the drawer of the wardrobe, searching out a pair of shorts that looked clean. Ugh, she really needed to do laundry if the dirty clothes were starting to be put back in their original spots. She pulled out a pair of blue plaid shorts and held them up. Maybe go shopping soon. She folded them against her arm, happily noting this pair was crisp and clean. She crossed to the closet and fumbled through the shirts, plucking a navy shirt polo shirt from the rack. She felt her phone vibrate from her back pocket and pulled it out, smiling as she read the text message. She sent a quick reply back, promising she’d be on time. A tug on her shirt turned her attention from her phone to the doe eyed boy staring up at her. She kneeled down and gave him a reassuring smile which he responded to almost immediately. She handed the boy the clothes and ruffled his wavy dark brown locks. She sat down on his bed with a sigh. She’d managed to finish her homework in record time and had rushed home. Sam had been estatic to learn she’d be spending not only Saturday with him like usual, but also Friday. It was Saturday morning now, creeping up on lunch. She was exhausted; she’d had little energy as of the last four weeks to go on her routine jog. Studying never before had been so tiring. Even though now, her free time was spent at the stables with Trevor and Romeo. She stood slowly, shaking her head to clear her thoughts and went about straightening Sam’s room while he dressed. He came in not long after, shuffling his tiny feet. Addison smiled at him and signed softly. He nodded and crossed to his bed side table, grabbing the hearing aids. He handed them to Addison with bright green eyes and waited patiently as she slipped the instruments on, fingers delicately trailing the shell of his ear. He gave a bright smile that stretched to his big eyes, not noticing the sadness in his sister’s eyes at the device he was forced to wear. The doctors all said the surgery had worked, but it could take years for the scar tissue to degrade and his hearing to come back. They were always so confident when she spoke to them. She was always so worried that his hearing would worsen with age. Honestly he didn’t need the hearing aids, he could hear a surprising bit for having been nearly completely deaf. But Sam liked wearing them. Something about the muffled voices suddenly being so clear. She was worried he would be dependant on them. He normally didn’t wear them on weekends because she forced him not to, but today was special. Today he and Trevor would meet. Trevor knew nothing about the little boy standing before her. Addison had long guessed that ‘Sam’ to Trevor was nothing more than a name that had once made him jealous. It had never come up in their conversation beforehand in the past two weeks since Addison had clearly let him know she wanted him to stay. Until two days before, it had only be about the present. But now Trevor wanted to know more about her. He never pushed, but she could see it in the silence that stretched between them sometimes; like when she always left to answer her phone in private or when she worked with Romeo or played with the dog tags around her throat. She didn’t want to talk about that past quite yet, but Sam was her present as well as past. He’d be her future too. She may be jumping the gun by introducing Sam to Trevor so soon, but something about the upcoming meeting felt...right. Like it was meant to be. Trevor had no idea whom he was meeting; he hadn’t a clue he was even meeting a person at all other than her. She had simply asked if he could clear his schedule Saturday for a few hours. With summer rolling around, students were taking less lessons because trips to home were on the horizons as well as graduation exit exams and finals. It had been a stretch, but she hardly ever asked anything of Trevor and she’d let him know today was important. Trevor never saw her on Saturdays. Friday nights were spent in his office, Saturdays belonged to Sam as well as the majority of Sundays. Sam tugged at her shirt’s hem. Addison looked down and smiled, taking her white fedora from his hands and placing it on her head. She slipped her shoes, allowing Sam to tie them. The now six year old boy had become obsessed with tying things since he’d learned last week. Addison grabbed her bag and keys, turning out the lights as they walked out the door. She locked it and took Sam’s waiting hand. The school was not a far walk from the apartment her family had been assigned. It was a short walk. She led Sam down the gravel path that led up to the front of the school. She took the dirt walking trail that lead up to the stables, a short cut. This way she could by pass any prying eyes. She could see the stable’s roof in the near distance and hear the snorting of nearby horses. She veered off the trail, Sam in tow, to sneak around the back way to the paddock where Romeo was staying. The stallion was dozing in the shade of a tree in the distance, completely ignoring the horses in the paddock across from him. After his last escape attempt (and only one), no horses were kept in any paddock directly adjacent to his. She could see some of the lesson horses grazing in the pasture close to them. She walked up to the fence and watched as Sam stopped to stare at the creatures with wide, fascinated eyes. She smiled at her baby brother, taking in his smaller appearance. It was easy to see the striking resemblance between them. He was her male counterpart in everything. A few had confused him for her own child. He was much smaller than most boys his age. She knelt down behind him, her body easily blocking the child from view. She gazed up at the horses, trying to picture how Sam saw them. She whistled to one, hoping to catch its attention and maybe bring it closer. Sam had never been raised around the horses, but it was in his blood. Sam’s tiny body shivered in excitement as slowly, a single horse raised its head and curiously began to slowly walk over. She glanced at her watch, noting she was in fact, a few minutes late. Oh well. Trevor would be out soon looking for her and she couldn’t bear to tear her brother away from his new found obsession. ”speech“ Words: 1365 Notes: haha, monster of a post DONE Outfit: CLICKTune: <3 Tag: Trevor/LOVEYY

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:325px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 13px; color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding-right: 15px] He seemed to always be at this damned stable, even on days when he tried not to be. He had been at home, about to get ready for his date with Addison when he remembered he had yet more bills to pay and other orders to take care of. With a growl of annoyance he had quick jumped into the shower and packed some clothes before heading to the barn. He was now sitting at his computer, fingers tapping away at the keyboard. He hoped he wouldn’t smell too much like a horse. Then again, Addison would probably like that… Trevor glanced out at the pasture where Romeo was grazing. The stallion had come a long way since they brought him back. Well, with Addison he had. He barely tolerated Trevor being around. Slowly but surely, the stallion was gaining a tiny bit of trust in Trevor. He still didn’t trust him enough to let him touch him, but he didn’t run away from him if he approached. Since Addison had finally allowed their relationship to be established, Trevor had accepted Romeo a bit more freely and wasn’t as easily annoyed by the stallion. It also helped that he had stopped trying to break through the fence. Trevor finished his last order and emailed it then glanced at his watch, cursing quietly and grabbing his bag. He headed for his bathroom and changed into his good clothes quick, spraying on a bit more of his cologne. He glanced at his watch again, frowning as he realized that not only was he late, but Addison was as well, which was odd. He looked out the window, looking over the fields that he could see from the window. He caught sight of a figure crouched down by a fence, a horse on the other side. He tilted his head, recognizing Addison’s figure. ”What in the hell is she doing?...” He murmured to himself, grabbing his keys and wallet before heading out the door. He walked through the stable and out the back door, taking a moment to pat Moon on the nose. He missed his gelding. He had been so busy that he hadn’t had time to really ride him. He had been mostly used as a lesson horse lately. He made a mental note to take him out on a long ride sometime soon. He inhaled the country air as he made his way through the pastures to Addison, enjoying the nice weather. He approached Addison from behind, still confused as to why she was just crouching there petting the horse. He stopped a few feet away from her. ”Addison..? What are you doing?”Count ;; 443 Tag ;; Addison Notes ;; outfit Tunes ;; nada |

Maybe he’d realized that he wasn’t going to be ridden. Or maybe the sorrel gelding had noticed Sam. Animals seemed to flock to the boy. Addison smiled as she rested her chin lightly on top of her brother’s head. The gelding sniffed her hands, searching for a treat perhaps but settled for a good ear scratch. Addison was slightly afraid he’d walk off before Sam built up the courage to touch him. Addison whispered in Sam’s ear, a little louder to make sure he heard. The boy bit his lip as he stared at the beautiful creature before them. Then, cautiously, his hand slowly reached out to lay flat on the gelding’s velvety muzzle. Addison grinned as the gelding perked his ears forward and Sam stared up at him in awe. The gelding sniffed his hand carefully, then reached up with his lips to rub his top lip against the boy’s hand. Sam gave a light gasp and jerked back, looking bewildered. Addison laughed and leaned forward to blow in the horse’s nostrils. The gelding snorted and puffed right back at her, inhaling her breath. Sam watched with large eyes as the horse gently nuzzled Addison’s cheek. Sam made a whining noise and promptly stuck his head inbetween the fence planks. The horse turned his attention back to the boy, who copied his sister and blew into the horses nostrils. The horse snorted again, shaking his head. Sam let out a muffle giggle as the horse’s ears flopped. Addison heard her name being called and sat back further on her heels, looking over her shoulder. Her heart began to race at the sight of him and she was suddenly very worried that he might not appreciate Sam tagging along on their date. ”Hey,“ she called out as he stopped a few feet from her. Sam giggled loudly from her arms; the giggle sounded more like a donkey bray, due to Sam’s hearing problems. Addison turned back the two and watched as the gelding lipped at the boy’s neck, having craned his neck to slip his muzzle through the fence. She stood and walked over to Trevor, kissing his cheek upon reaching his side. She turned back to Sam who was teasing the horse’s lips and snorting with peals of laughter. She hadn’t seen this happy in a while. ”He’s never seen a horse up close before and he’s really shy. I’m surprised he even touched him with hardly any thought,“ Addison shifted her weight to one foot, a habit she assumed when she was nervous and not sure what to say. She moved forward, touching the boy’s cheek to gain his attention. She placed a hand on the tiny boy’s shoulders and carefully guided him forward. Sam’s big green eyes never left the horse until Addison stopped before Trevor. Addison motioned with her hand for Trevor to kneel to Sam’s level as she did so. Sam finally turned his attention to Addison and suddenly noticed he was not alone. His big eyes got even wider at the sight of the man and without a sound, he shuffled closer to Addison, trying to hide behind her. She stopped him from retreating and raised her hands. His eyes watched them closely out of habit even though up close he could hear her easily. ”This is Trevor. He is very important to me and very nice,“ she said as she signed at the same time. The boy glanced up at her face after she spoke and looked at Trevor. He appeared four years old even though he was obviously older to read her hands so well. He was the spitting image of Addison. Addison looked up at Trevor, apprehension shining in her own dark green irises as Sam carefully climbed into her lap. ”This is Sam, my baby brother.“”speech“ Words: 637 Notes: Sam <333 Outfit: CLICKTune: <3 Tag: Trevor/LOVEYY

[atrb=border,0,true][style=width:325px; font-family: times new roman; font-size: 13px; color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding-right: 15px]
Trevor was perplexed as he stared at his girlfriend, all dressed up and ready to go, kneeling by the fence, in the dirt, playing with a horse. He ran a hand through his hair and sighing and chuckling quietly. He never knew what to expect from her. Hey. He smiled when he heard her voice. Then another sound echoed through the air, he wasn’t even sure what it was, and his jaw dropped open as Addison moved to the side to expose a small boy playing with the horse. He continued to stare at the boy even as Addison walked over and kissed his cheek. He’s never seen a horse up close before and he’s really shy. I’m surprised he even touched him with hardly any thought. Trevor blinked a few times and looked down at Addison in bewilderment. Who was this tiny child playing with one of his horses? Addison had just talked about him like Trevor should know who he was. Trevor blinked some more, still trying to get his mind to work and put the pieces together. He looked between the two, seeing the similarities between them. Did Addison have a kid?! Trevor’s mind went completely blank again and he continued to stand and stare at the tiny creature in front of him. As Addison brought the creature towards Trevor, he almost retreated a few steps away. Trevor wasn’t one who dealt with kids well. He noticed the small devices in the child’s ears and died a little more on the inside. Especially deaf kids.
Trevor’s eyes were wide with complete confusion and terror. If Addison had a kid, why hadn’t she mentioned it a long time ago? It would have definitely been better than just showing up with him for what Trevor had thought was going to be a nice date for the two of them to get to know each other better. Well, he definitely knew her better now… Trevor followed Addison’s directions without much thought, wanting this awful meeting to be done and over with. This is Trevor. He is very important to me and very nice. Trevor watched in amazement as Addison signed to Sam while she spoke. Was he going to have to learn how to sign? Could he even do that? Trevor caught Addison’s gaze as she looked at him. This is Sam, my baby brother. Every muscle in Trevor’s body seemed to relax at the word ‘brother.’ His eyes grew to normal size and he sighed in relief. So this was the infamous Sam. Trevor almost laughed at how he had been jealous and thought Addison had some other boyfriend named Sam. Now that Trevor was no longer terrified that he was inheriting a song, he smiled easily at the little boy in front of him and held out his hand, ”Hello, it’s nice to meet you.” Trevor could deal with this, and if this brought him closer to understanding more about Addison, he was all for it.

This was a bad idea. She was rushing into things, she should have warned him. Should have told him! But he should have asked too! It was not entirely her own fault. She’d given him what she’d assume was obvious signs she was comfortable. And she’d never really bring up the conversation on her own, especially if he didn’t care to know. Her heart was slamming in her chest and her stomach turning. She felt queasy all of a sudden. This was not going how she planned. Then again, had she really planned out his reaction? No. He relaxed as soon as she divulged her and Sam’s relationship, but that didn’t stop the panic from rising within. He knew nothing about her, and here she was, with her little brother in tow. It was not fair of her. Trevor’s hand moved into her line of vision. She had looked down to hide the panic spreading across her face a while ago. He spoke and his voice was smooth, his own panic gone. Sam shrunk a tiny bit into her arms, instinct for the little boy. But he just as quickly turned to look at the offered hand with wide eyes. He looked up at Addison’s tight, encouraging smile and then turned back to Trevor’s hand. Without hesitation, he placed his hand in the werewolf’s larger hand. His skin was noticeably cool, like Addison’s. The boy, despite appear fragile, had a fair grip as he shook Trevor’s hand and climbed out of Addison’s lap. He withdrew his hand and looked back out to the horses, this time his eyes landing on the metallic buckskin that had moved closer upon hearing the ruckus. Sam stayed by Addison’s side obediently, instinctually knowing that the stallion’s shifty eyes and tense posture showed his wariness. Addison watched the boy for a moment, then stood slowly. She shifted her weight to her one foot and grasped her wrist behind her back with her hand. She looked at Romeo for a moment, giving the stallion a brief cluck to show she’d seen him. The stallion perked his ears forward, his gold eyes only for Addison, then moved off, having had his curiosity fulfilled. Addison continued to stare at her rehabilitating horse as she spoke, trying to avoid Trevor’s eyes. ”I’m sorry, I should have told you. This was a bad idea. I’ll take him back to the house if you want.“ Sam tensed beside her at the word ‘house’, but gave no other indication that he’d heard their conversation. ”speech“ Words: 441 Notes: so insecure girl, get a back bone! <drools over gif meanwhile> Outfit: CLICKTune: <3 Tag: Trevor/LOVEYY

Trevor smiled as the small boy grasped his hand and shook it, his grip stronger than he had expected and his skin just as cool as Addison’s. The small boy withdrew his hand and was glued to Addison’s side once again. Another thing they had in common, they were both shy. Trevor chuckled and stood up, ”Well, you can definitely tell he’s your brother.” He followed the boy’s eyes out to Romeo who was watching them intently. Yep, definitely Addison’s brother. He watched as Addison stood and interacted with Romeo from afar. The bond the two had was incredible, and Trevor had to admit he was jealous. It almost matched the bond him and Moon had, and Moon was his familiar. Addison and Romeo had a bond that almost matched theirs, and Romeo wasn’t Addison’s familiar.
Trevor blinked as he was pulled out of his thoughts by Addison’s voice. I’m sorry, I should have told you. This was a bad idea. I’ll take him back to the house if you want. Trevor chuckled and shook his head, grasping Addison’s hand in his. ”No, no, it’s quite alright! I should be getting to know your family since, I’m hoping, I’ll be sticking around for a while.” He flashed her a toothy grin. ”Shall we head out?” Perhaps this was her opening up to him, finally answering his questions. He really hoped so.

She tried not to let it show, her brother was looking to her for comfort. She wasn’t doing a very good job this morning of guiding the little boy. She was proud though, that his horse blood ran so strong. He wasn’t afraid of the giant animals, but he was just the right amount of wary. She never gave him much credit for his intelligence; he was so reserved and quiet that he never really had a desire to show it. He pointed at Romeo’s retreating back and looked up at Addison. She gave a soft smile, but shook her head. ”Not him, I’m afraid.” She said, resisting the urge to sign to the boy. Sam’s brow furrowed as he wasn’t given the visual aid of hands, but nodded regardless. Addison gave a soft smile as Trevor spoke, looking down at her brother and running her fingers through the young boy’s bangs. He stood still, enjoying the attention from his sister that he never seemed to quite get enough of. Her boyfriend reached out to grasp her hand, his familiar warm touch soothing her wracked nerves and his words even more as he spoke. A relieved smile touched her lips. So he was thinking the same thing as her; this was just some fling, it was something she hoped have a chance to grow into something much more. She laced her fingers with his and squeezed his hand in gratitude, giving a strong nod. She was much more comfortable now to know that she hadn’t crossed another line in the world of relationships. Sam took her other hand in his at Trevor’s words and looked up at the man with questioning green eyes. ”speech“ Words: 291 Notes: <3 short and to the point Outfit: CLICKTune: <3 Tag: Trevor/LOVEYY

Trevor met the questioning gaze of the young boy, seeing the similar features him and Addison shared once again. He smiled at the boy and then glanced at Addison. ”I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty hungry, so let’s get going.” He led them over to his truck, opening the passenger door for Addison and Sam and closing it before jumping in on his side of the truck. He started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot, headed for town. He glanced at Addison, suddenly feeling awkward. He didn’t know what to say or what to talk about in front of her brother. ”So… What does Sam like to do?” he asked, trying to start a conversation.

Sam stared into the open cab for a moment before Addison helped him climb into his seat. She climbed on in after him and made sure he buckled up before she too snapped her seat belt in place. Addison looked towards her boyfriend as he climbed into the truck, smiling softly at him. She looked down at her brother as he began fiddling with the edge of his shorts. Addison looked up as Trevor spoke, having been trying to ignore the awkward silence. She gave him a small, encouraging smile and ran her fingers through Sam’s hair. ”He’s a bit introverted, Matthew, our case worker, says he doesn’t do much at daycare.“ She spoke softly, wishing she was in a better position to care for her brother properly. He may know she was his sister, but the boy needed a mother and she was all he had. She was about to answer Trevor’s question to the best of her abilities when a quiet voice answered from between them. ’Drawing...and water. I like blue things, too.’ Addison looked down at her brother with wide eyes. His words held no slur, having been spoken painfully slow and with the utmost care, but he’d spoken nonetheless. She turned her wide eyes to Trevor and it was only seconds before her a bright smile cracked her lips. She leaned down to give her brother a hug. ”That’s right. You’re really good with water, too, aren’t you?“ she asked smoothly, trying to get him to open up a little more. Trevor looked at the small boy next to him, noticing how he fidgeted much like Addison did when she was nervous. He’s a bit introverted, Matthew, our case worker, says he doesn’t do much at daycare. Trevor glanced over at Addison, wondering about her soft tone. Did she take care of him herself? Where was their mother? That was one of many questions Trevor had never gotten an answer to. But he had stopped pressuring her to answer his questions, figuring she would tell him when she was ready.
Drawing…and water. I like blue things, too. Trevor smiled and looked at the boy, then caught Addison’s expression. He furrowed his brow in confusion but brushed it off. He didn’t know why the young boy would speak to him if he normally didn’t speak to anyone. But he figured it was a good sign since the boy would be seeing a lot of him. That’s right. You’re really good with water, too, aren’t you? Trevor smiled at the scene before him, seeing the love between the two of them. ”That’s so cool. I wish I could play with water. I can only turn into a smelly old wolf.” He turned a beaming smile to the boy before returning his attention to the road. They were just coming into town, and he pulled into the parking lot of a local restaurant, hoping it was a good choice for everyone.

The boy seemed to slowly be relaxing, as was Addison too. Sam turned his large eyes to gaze upon the older man in what appeared awe. He reached out with a tiny hand tentatively and patted an arm hesitantly. He frowned and quickly turned to his sister, signing sloppily. Addison frowned as she struggled to keep up with his fingers. ”Sam, that’s rude!“ she gave a small gasp that morphed into a withheld laugh. It came out more like a snort, which caused Sam to laugh. ’You ‘ound li’ meh!’ he slurred and quickly gasped, covering his mouth and curling into Addison’s side at his poor speech. She ignored his sudden shyness, trying to make light of his speech. She’d learn the best way to fix his bad speech was ignore the poor and acknowledge the good. She looked up at Trevor with a small grin, a blush of slight embarrassment dusting her cheeks. ”He asked why you weren’t hairy enough for a werewolf. He watches too much bad TV. Lillith just picks a channel and lets it run all day and night, who knows what he has seen.“ Sam cringed visibly at the word Lillith and quickly sunk further into the car seat, trying to allow the seat to swallow him up. Addison glanced down at Sam and sighed, reaching down to give him a hug. Sam reached up and one of her hands in his began to slowly play with her fingers, slowly morphing her pliant digits into various signs. She smiled as he busied himself. ”He’s most recent obsession is with dogs, keeps begging for one. So you’ll probably have a new admirer.“ she whispered, trying to bring the blush down on her cheeks. She watched as Sam tried to spell out horse using her fingers, carefully correcting him along the way. ”H-o-r-s-e,” she withdrew her hands and pushed her thumb to her temple, curled her pinkie and ring finger, and waved her middle and pointer finger twice, showing him the complete word, ”horse. “ Sam repeated the action hesitantly. Addison glanced up as the truck turned into a parking lot. She recognized the restaurant and smiled softly, looking at her boyfriend in approval. Sam looked up at Addison as she reached around to unbuckle him. He signed something and then ‘horse’ again, as if asking a question. Addison smiled softly and stepped out of the truck. Sam crawled towards her and she lifted him from the seat, her fedora getting knocked askew. ”Ride a horse? One day, little man. Let’s take it one step at a time,“ she answered softly, glad he was relaxed enough to openly converse with her. She closed the truck door with her hip, her arms still holding Sam as he gazed upon the restaurant with curiosity. He seemed to recognize it. He squirmed to be let down and she complied, watching him run around the front of the truck to grasp Trevor’s hand and give him an impatient tug. ”Sam, it’s not polite to pull people around,“ she reprimanded half-heartedly. Sam ducked his head down in shame and gave a soft mutter of ‘sowwy.’ Addison smiled forlornly as she took Trevor’s other hand, Sam tucking himself into Trevor’s side as if to hid from her. Addison gave a soft chuckle and shook her head. ”speech“ Words: 568 Notes: Sam’s no filter moment was inspired by my nephew. xD He called his grandpa old today! Trevor laughed out loud when Addison told him Sam’s comment. ”No, I’m not hairy enough right now. Tell ya what, after dinner, I’ll show you how hairy I can be,” he winked at the small boy again, chuckling. He had never come across someone who would enjoy his supernatural trait. He would have fun with this. As he drove he continued to glance at the pair next to him, watching them interact. He watched the sign language, fascinated by it. It’d be interested to learn how to communicate with the small boy, although it seemed as if Addison was encouraging him to speak instead of sign. As he got out of the truck he heard Addison say Sam asked about riding a horse. He brightened and beamed a smile over at them. ”We could use Moon. It’d be easier to teach Sam since I have a connection with Moon. Plus Moon is bomb-proof.” He watched Sam run over to him and take his hand. He gazed down in surprise for a moment before he in turn grasped the small boys hand, taking Addison’s in his other and headed into the restaurant.
He led them towards a booth in the corner, a more private part of the restaurant. When their waitress came he ordered a soda then started paging through the menu, even though he already knew what he was going to get. He was simply trying to buy time to think of a topic of conversation.
