[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a13/lilbarrelracer429/katmiddle.png]Her new life had become a blur. The past three months had been a maze of juggling training for herself and Kaotanya, dodging politics and settling petty disputes that were spilling over into the wrong territories. Katswiri was ruling the dragon world through her appearance alone. Kaotanya had not be revealed yet as her host nor as the Great Queen. She had not yet even been announced Crowned Princess. She was far from ready, so anything that required a queen’s touch in the dragon realm was dealt with by Katswiri herself in the flesh. Skipping dimensions was beginning to tire her and her host out more than it should. But Liam was here to protect her fragile host whilst she rested. Unfortuneatly the metal bastard’s presence also meant that Katswiri had an audience when it came to Kaotanya’s training.
She was forced to find shelter far from the city when she required proper personal time.
And so the Great Queen found herself coasting the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico, away from prying eyes. She’d been here for a few hours now, just drifting in a random direction. It was only an hour ago that a pod of some of the seas’ most playful creatures found her and the youngsters pestered her into play. She dove beneath the waves, slinking her body back and forth almost lazily as the dolphins swam around her. A youngster hovered around her head and the dragoness let loose a snort of air, spinning her snout in a circle as she exhaled. A suspended ring of air hung in the lazy currents, to which the dolphin calf chirped happily, created her own bubble ring, and shot through the hoops.
Katswiri smiled as she gave chase, the music of the ocean currents and clicks of the dolphins surrounding her. Earth had changed greatly over the years, yet the seas, with their great unexplored depths, had changed little. She was proud to be born of the sea. The clicking of the dolphins around her changed from playful banter to a more purposeful tune, weaving with the changing sound of the currents’ music around her. Katswiri turned her head in the direction the pod began to move off in, allowing her magic to stretch out.
Well, breakfast sounded very nice.
Katswiri took the lead, surging to the front of the pod and then dove below, whipping her body back and forth to pull in front of the pod as they split apart. The fish loomed ahead, panicking upon realizing they were no longer safe. The dolphins surged around the dragon as the leads began pushing the crazed fish into a giant ball. Katswiri let out a bolt of magic, stunning the fish and slowing them down. Her dolphins would eat well today.
Katswiri dove into the middle of the giant bait ball, grasping a large mouthful of fish and breaking the surface of the water above. Below her, the dolphins dove in and out of their easy breakfast. Katswiri gave a grin and tilted her head back, allowing the mouthful of fish to slide down her throat. The dragon licked her lips and contemplated diving again for another mouthful of the tasty morsels, but refrained. She looked to the skies, seeing gulls beginning to gather. She growled lowly and the birds kept their distance. ’Good choice,’ the dragon thought grumpily as she rolled onto her back, allowing her smooth belly to soak up the warm rays of the morning sun.
She floated in the water for another hour, the dolphins left her with little goodbye when she could not be roused to play again. The blue dragoness rolled back onto her belly, sensing an island close by. With a shake of her head that sent her drench mane flying, she changed her course for the island, not quite ready to return to the mainland. A few minutes later had the dragon walked up onto sandy shores. She flared her four wings behind her and flapped them a few times before folding them carefully along her spine. She flopped onto the warm sand with a groan and rolled onto her back, burrowing into the delicate yellow grains. She settled into the sand, her wings spread wide, and silently made plans to remain here for the rest of the day.

Now centuries had passed and he hoped that all was well, that the people of the Hispanic nation were living in a humble peace, a thought that made his tail wag happily in his natural form, much more comfortable like this than upon two legs, considering how he felt deadlier and more able with large claws and teeth. He slowly began to stand upon his muscled legs, deep chest skimming against the summer lawn as he stretched in a manner similar to a dog, jaws snapping around, scaring some cardinals out of the trees as they darted away. His folded wings began to outstretch from their still position, a miniature current caused by that occasion, and he felt a strange pull in his inner being, as if he should be heading somewhere, a slight headache forming in his skull, and he didn't know what force controlled him to take his chance in the sky. He felt at ease, less randomly sick than he had been on the earth, his prime, and as he darted through the clouds, the large dragon narrowed his aureate irises, trying to pay heed to the feelings within his chest cavity, allow the pull to drag him to the desired location.
** He guessed he was hungry or something, his primal instincts controlling over his basic emotions, and within an hour or two, his wings slightly weary from this constant soaring, he finally was at the gulf, one brow raised in confusion as to why he was here, though the second he saw some seagulls flapping around, his tongue slithered out happily. Folding his appendages in the action reminiscent of an eagle, he dove down with such a dangerous speed, hoping he wouldn't come in contact with that horrible source they called water, he wasn't even sure if he could swim in such depths. His jaws started opening as the birds noticed he was just inches away, and with a silenced roar, he managed to catch seven in his mouth in one go, teeth crushing his prey's bones, blood spilling out of the pool in his mouth, staining the water below as he barely turned up in time, claws skimming the surface, droplets spraying everywhere. Just like an orca, he started tossing the meat up in the air and catching it once more, playing with his food until he was satisfied by the lack of feathers from the constant flickers of fire burning in his mouth, swallowing the meat entirely. Surely it was barely enough to sate his apparent hunger, judging by his size when compared to that of the birds, but a light midday snack was fine as well, especially when he got a view of some weird blue blob on an island a mile or so to the south.
** Tilting his head, Alejandro wondered what it was, and if this was what had been pulling him here, and his curiosity made him hover on over to the island, blinking in surprise as he started his phantom-like descent, the figure becoming more streamlined and not as blurred as he got closer. But as he finally touched upon the ground, his eyes widened with the sight he was blessed with a familiar face, one that was napping and relaxed, a gentle face he usually didn't see associated with this specific woman, the very same one he had been thinking about whilst his little sister was in the hospital delivering her child. A dull thud was heard as the male landed, smirk on his lips as he leaned forward to sniff cautiously, though it wasn't like anyone else could have such exotic patterns, at least no normal specimen of their species, to which he purred, “Ay, such a time has passed since our last reunion, reina.” The beige sand was warm beneath his feet and he felt that lulling feeling to take a rest as well, especially after a snack, to which he laid down horizontal to her, so that his snout was a bare foot away from her own. He didn't know why he enjoyed bugging the maiden so much instead of letting her live her life in peace, but maybe it was that sensation that he wanted to be a part of a group, the raw need for a companion. Or maybe it was his age and that damned internal clock. Shit.

Her senses must be slipping from the constant realm traveling and work. She didn’t sense the approach of another until she heard the dull thump of someone landing on the beach not far from her. Her muscles tensed, the gem within her collar pulsing rapidly with her increased heart rate for a split second. Katswiri forced her heart to calm and let the magic spilling from her collar pool under her skin before turning her senses to the approaching being.
He was hovering over her and her magic spiked dangerously at the threat of someone getting so close without her noticing. Katswiri paled, realizing her magic was not quivering with rage, but rather...reluctance. Something was pushing it away, like it was frightened. Then she smelled him.
Well, fuck.
She groaned under her breath as he spoke. It had to be him, of all creatures! Kao swirled within her mind, watching the exchange with interest. ’He doesn’t seem so bad to me,’ she quirked up softly. ’Bugger off, Kao,’ the great dragoness growled out. Kao snorted, but retreated none the less. ”I’m sincerely hoping that when I open my eyes, you are just going to turn out be a figment of my imagination,” she murmured, counting to ten before opening her eyes. Well, damn. That didn’t work. She glared, the hate in her copper eyes weaker than the last they’d met and he’d stolen her Maeve from her. Katswiri rolled onto her pale belly, drawing her wing up around her and grasping at her retreating magic. She pushed it into her mane, allowing the silken, wet trends to slowly puff out like that of a cat’s. A sharp tingle sliced her mind, as the magic rebelled. Damn, she was working too hard to use it well without it backfiring.
”Not entirely long enough, dragon.”

He was just lingering around to see if Katswiri would stir from this eternal slumber than she seemed to be in, or at least in his mind she was, considering how uptight and grumpy she was all the time. Stubborn woman, though he couldn't lie to say he didn't find it alluring and mysterious, but goddamn, how long did a guy have to wait before he got laid? Glittering sharp teeth were exposed as his lips raised in an arrogant smirk towards her sarcastic words, mentioning something about him just being a part of her imagination, to which the Hispanic just cooed on back, “Of your sweetest dreams~” The silence was back as Alejandro just stared right at the side of her head, observing her moist mane, only to then draw his own cranium back in surprise as it puffed, so instant that he wasn't expecting it at all, a snort vibrating from his large frame. He lifted a clawed hand up, pushing it slowly towards her angled snout, maybe scrape it lightly to get her to sneeze or at least startle her to do something other than just mundanely talk and lay there during this impromptu vacation.
** Yet another chuckle left Ale when the pretty female retorted something about their time apart and the aureate beast rolled on to his side with a hefty grumble, purring out in a silken baritone voice, “You don't mean that, reina. You must have missed me, no?” He tossed her a flirty wink, listening to the squawks of the colorful parrots that lived on this small chunk of paradise, his eyes glancing over to their location as he stood up lazily, remembering how the ocean's waves were lapping at them at this moment when he felt some soggy substance on his right mitt. Raising it up to stare he noticed the dangling emerald seaweed, flinging it towards the vixen, not sticking around long enough to see if it made it to the target or not, instead speed walking away with an innocent hum. Seeing as how this island wasn't that large from his aerial view of it before, he knew there were only three main chunks to this entire puzzle, the southern shore, where he and Kats had situated themselves, the sparse inner forest of sorts, and then the north shore, not much to it, but still territory to explore. The scales along his spine rippled as paw after paw took him past these trees, letting out a grunt when one of his legs was nearly caught between a pair of the topiary, instead looking over his shoulders as he stated, “Are you just going to let this beautiful place remain undiscovered? Join me.”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a13/lilbarrelracer429/katmiddle.png]She never got a break, did she? Between settling the rising disputes among the dragon families of fire and earth, making plans for Kaotanya reveal as Crowned Princess and coronation later on, and juggling Kao’s second life, it never ended. Break? Ha, yea right. For several millennia she’d been killed and reborn to only be killed again. This was her first time being bonded to someone as young as Kaotanya and while the bond itself was easily to manipulate, pathetically so at that, the bond was also frightening. Her and the girl shared dreams and sometimes even thoughts and sight without either one of them even meaning to. The bond was beginning to lose the perfectly drawn lines that had always been erected when her own soul had merged with that of her host.
‘Breaks’ didn’t exist for the poor Great Queen.
Katswiri eyed the golden dragon warily from the corner of her eye. The magic was hard to control in her tired state so her puffed out mane quickly lost its intimidating factor as she felt her control slip on the magic like a slippery wet fish. She rattled the horns along her cheek in warning as the dragon made a move to paw at her snout. Like some lost puppy begging for food. No Earth Dragon would ever touch her again. Her side burned with the phantom pain of the poison that had killed her in her last life.
Missed him? Hardly. She’d forgotten him completely in the whirlwind of events that had captured her life. Students were disappearing and the most disturbing of all had her on guard twenty four seven in fear for Kao’s capture. The enemy had succeeded in apprehending Caelum. A pretty fae whom Kats and Kao had met briefly and bonded to. Royalty stuck together; after all, they would be spending much time together in the future as Queens of their own species. But the enemy must be strong to have captured someone like Caelum. They were moving with purpose now. What had been first deemed as opportune attacks had turned to kidnappings and Kats was slowly beginning to connect the dots. They were searching for something now, she knew it. Why else go after Caelum? She was one stepping stone. Something had to be done.
A wet tendril of something struck her slender narrow muzzle, wrapping itself around her mug tightly. She gave a sharp snort, water vapor erupting from her nares as she reached up with a paw to claw at the item that had so easily bound her muzzle tight. Panic bubbled under the surface, a distant memory of jaws clamped shut, as the acid, her own acid boiled in her mouth. She reared up on her hind paws as the item of her torture was removed. She glared at the offending piece of kelp, struggling to push down the rising need to flee or spit her fire to the corners of the realms. She glared at the handsome dragon as he walked off, the sunlight flickering off his molten scales in a dazzling display.
What the hell?! Handsome! Ugh she was growing weak again.
She remained standing bipedal for a moment, steam still billowing from her nostrils as the dragon turned to her, questioning her. Actually, it almost sounded like a demand. She quirked her lip, revealing one solid fang. She stood there for a moment, staring at the dragon of her nightmares before taking a chance to look at the forest stretched out before her. She rose higher on her hind legs, copper eyes closing, as she scented the wind. The crisp fresh scent of magic invaded her nares and she stretched her senses around her. There in the heart of the island, a strong magical source pulsed deep under ground. She hadn’t felt magic this ancient in lifetimes. She opened her eyes, ruffling her wings uncertainly. She wanted to investigate, but that meant following him. She sighed, too tired to really put up much of a fight against him. She walked forward on two legs, curling her forelegs underneath her body. She dropped back down to the more comfortable quadrepedal form upon reaching Alejandro’s side. She pushed past him, making it a point to move her wing tips away so that not even a feather brushed his scaled hide. ”Just don’t touch me, dragon, and you will escape with your face as is. Unless you want me to finish what I started.”

While he had definitely spent some time on this earth, enough to watch it grow and fall, it was nothing compared to the Great Queen of all the dragons, who knew how many lives she had lived, and if all the legends they told growing hatchlings were true. The tip of his tail lashed at that thought, smacking the bark of one of the trees accidentally and making it lean rather heavily to the side, squirrels leaping off with fear of their lives, and somewhere behind him he could hear the furious display of the beautiful dragoness. Nope, he wasn't going to turn around because he had this feeling that if he caught her at an embarrassing moment he wouldn't live to be able to even remember what was so bad about it, thus he kept his golden eyes staring straight ahead. Multiple times he opened his mouth to try and say something to her, but the air just didn't feel comfortable enough, and during the fifth or so attempt he had accidentally eaten a mouthful of rather dry leaves, coughing and squinting his eyes in disgust. It was like everything he did that related to the woman was troublesome, ah but he was sure that the gods would pay him rather fondly if he had the patience to go along with all of this, her aggression and pride, nearly like the female counterpart of himself, sans the whoring around and insatiably flirty tongue.
** He was starting to turn his head to see if she was still trailing after him, but that was when he felt the ground rumble with the combined force of their speeding weights, her dappled azure body streamlining right by him, not even one of those pretty feathers skimming his hide, this causing the earth dragon to raise an amused brow. Her poised and elegant words were laced with a bit of poison as she gave him such a forward threat, though all he did was tilt his head with a charming smile, velvety words spilt, “I'm not going to infect you with disease, mi reina, though I could loosen you up a bit if you would just slow down~” His practiced tone held so much inferred meanings behind it that she could take it in so many various ways, but that was when he strode a bit quicker, shoulder nearing her flanks with, “Ah but you made me so much sexier, can't you tell?” The scarred half of his face creased slightly with the mention, only for them to encounter this rather strange peculiarity, as if the island was split in half down the center, this abyss-like zone the only thing to greet them, unless they flew to the other side. But why waste such an adventure when they could fly on down the dry area, the entire place caged in like some sort of wall, only a few trickles of water found here and there, thankfully. Water was horrible, he hated how it felt and he barely even knew how to swim. Not that he would ever admit that to her, she probably wouldn't even let him live it down. That was when Alejandro leaned over the edge, sniffing silently before humming out, “Something special about it, we should investigate. Unless you're too frightened, but you can cuddle into me if it resorts to that, I don't mind~”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a13/lilbarrelracer429/katmiddle.png]It was quite amusing to watch the colossal golden beast make his way, rather ungracefully mind you, through the dense brush. One would think he’d have a little more respect for the beings associated with his domain of earth. But Katswiri knew, in part his delmia. This land was vibrant, and thriving, untouched for decades it seemed, judging by the raw magic in the air. A little disruption wouldn’t hurt the area when it was obviously doing so well. She weaved her way through the trees, old habits dying hard. She left barely a trace to her passage. Her much small body allowed for easy movement in this lush, thick foliage. It was rather peaceful, she thought, doing her best to ignore the frigid silence she had easily established. She had no idea why part of her considered it frigid for her; she’d never been bothered by the barrier she established over herself in the slightest bit.
She snorted at his words in obvious disbelief. ”All you earth dragons carry sort of poison, be it physical or mental,” she spat, feeling the mass of scars along her left ribcage burn with the phantom pain of the acidic poison that had ended her previous life. That mad being, she should have trusted her instincts to run. It would have saved her a long, torturous demise. His words of the scar he wore finally snapped something within her. She snarled, tongue flicking across the roof of her mouth ominously as she continued to march on, the gem within her color flickering as they drew closer to the source of the magic within the island.
”There is nothing ‘sexy’ from a mark obtained through the behavior worthy of a sex-starved hound. These marks,” she flared her wings, referring to the puckered pink lines littering her hide, standing out against the backdrop of blue, ”are the only scars I even dare to admire because it means at one point in life, the holder has faced true hardship, true loss, true pain, and came out on top. Each mark you see on me, Dragon, has at one point in time, killed me, but I bare them as a reminder that this curse will never leave so the only thing I can do with these scars, is learn from them. For each scar, I lost, but saved thousands. What can you say for yours?” She hissed coldly as the great rift bared itself before them.
She stared into the chasm, her mane standing on end. The air was raw with electric magic. Deep within the dark, she felt the coiling and uncoiling of veins of magic, beckoning her forth into their depths. The golden beast leaned down beside her, sniffing the humid, thick air. She snapped her jaws in his face, refusing to let him contaminate this area. ”You are to stay here like a good dog. This land is sacred and has not been touched in centuries. The magic is raw and a danger to even me. I cannot control it should it decide your presence is not satisfying,” she ruffled her feathers, trying to decide if she should give into the call of the wild magic. It was reaching for her, as if it knew a being of High Time had returned to the land. And it probably did.
She took a deep, calming breath, and leaped off the ledge into the inky blackness, free falling. Time seemed to slip away, the descent seemed to drag on. A warm updraft caught her partly open wings and softened her landing. Her paws revealed in the cool, moist dirt. She could feel the trickle of a stream nearby and the Great Queen stood still for a while, basking in the glow of the magic thick air. Her heart swelled and her mind slowly began to drift to older times. Images of great marble halls, looping wind currents, great trees, and dragons, fellow priests and priestess, dragons every where. True dragons, ranging from wyrms to wyverns.
The collar nestled at the hollow of her neck grew hot.
The dragoness opened her eyes, feeling some foreign presence reaching out for her. It was held a great, powerful air about it, its very core was magical, but it was slow. She furrowed her brow and took a tentative step forward. The magic lashed out suddenly, rebuking her for forgetting her place and pushing on when it had not allowed her to. A shock raced down her spine, seizing her muscles and setting fire to her cells. Her body frozen, a sharp keening moan slipping from her clenched teeth before she could snatch the sound back. The magical fingers probed her mind, reaching deep into her soul. Katswiri rushed to wrap her personal magic around Kaotanya’s dormant mind to protect her. This magic was old and hostile, even to her.
The magic loosened its grip, and Katswiri gave a soft purr of contentment as the magic slowly seeped into her skin, soothing the pain it had caused. Then it withdrew, but this time allowed her forth. The azure female carefully treaded through the thick darkness until a faint glow appeared ahead. The magic grew stronger with each step and before long, the music of High Time filled the air; even a mere human would be able to hear the glorious sounds that had been gone from this world for so long. The magic swooped and chirped, ancient dragon song woven into the old tunes. It made her icy veins glow with warmth.
The source of the glow, and the ancient power that made this land flourish, came into view. Bark glistened silver, bowing branches and tickling leaves caressed her smooth hide. The ancient tree towered above, a being of ancient High Society like her, and thus, the largest tree she had ever seen since her reincarnation cycle began. The very air around the tree glowed with power, the magic clinging to its leaves visible to the naked eye, like the soft sparkles that kissed the skin of Kaotanya’s cheeks and temples. The tree seemed to purr as Katswiri crawled forth, it’s searching limbs curling around her form, clinging to a kindred spirit. For so long the tree had existed, a sentient being, but it at last had found someone worthy of the gifts of the gods it had protected for so long. The tree offered up its gifts, calling forth the magic it had stored for so long to draw the dragoness’s attention.
Katswiri stared, not quite believing her eyes.
There, nestled among the protective maze of roots, were ancient gems. Gems the size of her collared one and larger. For centuries these had been lost...the tree purred, sending the female an image of the golden beast hopefully waiting above. She doubted it. Katswiri sighed and looked up. This secret needed to be kept and the tree was willing to share with an outsider. That meant he was worthy of something and also meant this island could be better protected. Hopefully. Katswiri let out a low growl and gave in to the tree’s request. She gave a low roar, signaling the dragon could now approach. She hoped he had the sense to approach slowly.
