Nickname: Isn't Lydia short enough?
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Grade: Sophomore
Subject:
Race: Shape shifter
Play-by: Candice Accola
Appearance:
Faint freckles adorn soft porcelain skin draped across a face with a gentle bone structure. Freckles litter her face from cheek to cheek, crossing the bridge of her nose to remain connected. Her eyes are a matter of debate. In some lights, they appear dark blue; in others, nearly grey. Still, in some light, her eyes are light blue specked with green. These eyes are large, bright and expressive. Pale pink colors her lips and cheeks, contrasting the light skin. Her hair is a light blonde and falls just beyond her shoulders, often sporting slow curls. Lydia is somewhat short, with a height of 5' 2". She's slim without being lanky; a bit of meat clings to her bones in areas that she doesn't fully appreciate, though not enough to call her overweight. Her shifted form is a 14.2 hand cremello Morgan horse with the same mesmerizing eyes.
Personality:
Lydia is particularly perceptive, due to her equine form. She's capable of sensing danger and emotions, something horses are renown for. She's a very quiet girl, often sitting along the sidelines and taking the time to observe what's going on before stepping into the fray. Despite this, she can be rather impatient when it comes down to something she wants. She may become pushy and get in someone else's space in order to take what she wants if the person is taking too long. Her secrets are kept to herself, as are many of her opinins and ideals. Her convictions are things she would rather not share, for fear of being judged, no matter how firmly she believes in something. She is quick to pick out her flaws; she's her own worst critic. Pair this up with perfectionism, and you have yourself someone who takes forever to complete a project because it simply has to be perfect. A very good friend; she'll jump into a fight, verbal or physical, in order to defend a friend. Her loyalty is always to friends and family. New friends are always welcome into her herd with little questions asked, but once you betray her trust, you won't be able to get it back. She may get back to speaking terms and act friendly, but she'll always be suspicious and never fully commit to the relationship again. As far as relationships go, Lydia swears she isn't open to love. She would rather focus on herself and her studies, but she's a hopeless romantic and a sucker for a good looking man. She would never make the first move though, and she's very slow to open up, unless someone's chemistry just screams to her.
History:
They say a shifter isn't a human taking animal form. They're an animal that sometimes takes human form. Lydia's family grew up in much that way. They saw themselves as the royal species of animals; smarter, more cunning, protectors of their cousins whom were only ever animal. Rarely did her family become human. Only then was it to protect their kin and their cousins, or to mate with others like them. They found more power in their animals; they were faster, stronger, more deadly. Her father a cougar; her mother a deer. As animals, her parents avoided one another for they saw it unnatural for prey and predator to be together. Instead, her mother ran with a herd of deer and her father hunted in the mountainous woods, only meeting up as humans at specified times. When her mother became pregnant, both of her parents ceased to shift; her mother to allow the babe to develop in her womb as one species, and her father to tend to her mother's needs. When she was born, her species determined that she would stay with her mother. Months passed without seeing her father while Lydia grew to manage her foal and toddler self. It was when she was four months that her mother finally introduced her to her father.
Her life continued in this way until she was six. Her animal had grown and so had she. As was the way of the shifters in her area, her parents no longer needed to raise her. Her mother was free to go off and have another child; her father had sired other children by other shifters. Her next six years were spent solely as her animal. Together they ventured the seaside, mountains, and plains. At twelve, she stumbled across her first human. He was baling hay on his family's farm, and she was mesmerized. She shifted, not realizing that humans were expected to be clothed. Her human form, always being concealed by her animal, approached the man stark naked. She smiled at him and approached, not comprehending the way he gaped at her bare figure. He had been an elderly man, living with his wife on their farm. The couple took her in and gave her a human name. For the next three years, they were her family. They knew of her animal and had found Cry Wolf High through the internet. In an effort to reconnect her with a species of her own kind, they chose to have her enrolled.
