Appearance:
Sam is a pretty good looking guy, for a human. He's got amazing hair, dark brown and thick. It's the kind girls like to run their fingers through, not too short but not obnoxiously long either. He's also got these dark brown eyes, almost chocolate in color. Depending on his mood, his gaze might actually be considered smoldering. He's really discontent with the way his life is right now and he thinks too hard on how to fix it. Sam doesn't smile often, but when he does it's kind of endearing. He's got a crooked smile and a set of straight, white teeth.Personality:
In terms of build and style, he's pretty casual for a guy. He stands at 6'1" and weighs 168 pounds of mostly muscle. His body is toned but not excessively and he looks pretty good with his shirt off. When he's not stuck in school uniform he can usually be found sporting a t-shirt and jeans. He also likes hoodies and leather jackets, and for formal events he cleans up pretty nice.
Samuel is a pretty conflicted guy. A lot has changed for him in the last couple years and he isn't the best at dealing with change. For one thing, he's been thrown head first into the realm of the supernatural, beings he once believed were only a myth. For another, it's his junior year of high school and he's just been forced to leave his friends and family behind. Did his family not realize that junior year is the hardest year of a person's high school career?History:
Not that he cares all that much about school and grades in general. It's all a bunch of pressure he doesn't need or want in his life. As far as he's concerned it's all useless knowledge anyway. Sam has a more creative mind. He likes to think outside the box and solve problems practically rather than be taught how to think. The boy has a knack for physics and science in general, and he's got a love for building things. One day he'll probably end up being some sort of engineer.
Butpoorschool habits aside, how Sammy interacts with other people is what really matters. His social life has been shot to hell. And it was all thanks to that stupid acceptance letter from Cry Wolf High School. The boy doesn't want to be here. He misses his friends and he misses his family. Worse off, it's pretty obvious that a lot of the people around here don't like having him around either. For the most part he tries to keep his head down and stay out of the line of fire. It doesn't always work that way though.
When it comes to his friends, Samuel's a pretty loyal guy. He stands up for people the people he cares about. In some ways he's a champion for the underdog. A quick learner, he knows how important it is that humans stick together. And as the Hunt's antagonizing behavior continues to escalate, Sam is realizing that he's not going to be able to keep his head down forever. Someone has got to stand up and fight for the rights of his fellow human students. And if that means he's gonna need to start using his fists, so be it.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Sam's life has always been a little edgy. His mother, Lucile Jane Harmon-Lee, was an aspiring actress with that same old cliche story. She moved to the city from some podunk town with big dreams and a bigger ambitions, slept her way into whatever two-bit role she could get, and eventually wound up pregnant by some asshat director. The new baby killed her dreams of being a star (not that she ever really had a shot in the cutthroat industry of New York City) and Lucy ended up taking up two jobs as a waitress in order to barely make her rent. She couldn't keep overworking herself while pregnant though. Abortion wasn't an option and already she had grown to love her unborn son.Name: 'Nali
Eventually she moved in with one of her coworkers, Justin Abbot Lee. Naturally, their relationship was strictly platonic. Justin was almost ten years older than Lucy, divorced, and tired of living alone. Lucy needed a place to stay and he had a spare bedroom. At the time, the living arrangement was convenient. He didn't mind the fact that she was pregnant and was even willing to help out with the baby.
The first three years of Sammy's life were pretty normal. He grew up like any other baby living in a city. The only difference was his "parents" weren't married. Justin was every bit his father even though the man wasn't his birth father. And just before he turned four, Justin and Lucy married. By his fourth birthday Samuel was officially adopted by Justin. For the first time he truly had a dad.
The rest of his life was pretty normal. Sam didn't have much money but he made do. In middle and high school he did odd jobs around the neighborhood in order to make some extra cash. A decently social guy, he had quite a few friends and school seemed kind of easy. For the most part he was cruising through the big city life. It seemed like he was always on the go and he loved it that way. It was fun, it was full, and he was genuinely happy.
And then the unthinkable happened.
It was his sophomore year of high school. One of his best friends was having a sleepover for his sixteenth birthday. Naturally, Sam went, had a lot of fun, slept over, and was in a pretty good mood when he walked into his apartment the next morning. What he found scared him for life.
Blood was spattered everywhere, some of it looking like it had tried to be cleaned up but not done very well. When he called for his mom, he got no answer. Justin didn't come when he called either. Alone in the apartment and not really sure what to do, Sam dumped his stuff in his room before coming back to investigate. A part of him said to call the cops but something held him back. There was something... strange about the scene. Nothing had been stolen or seemed out of place. There was just a lot of blood.
Samuel spent the next few hours cleaning. Several times he picked up the phone but just couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead he focused on getting rid of the blood, methodically trying to figure out what happened and where his parents were. The answer he got surprised him.
Having fallen asleep on the couch, he awoke to the apartment door opening in the middle of the night. Groggy and half asleep, he stayed quiet as he assumed the attackers were coming back. Except, they weren't attackers. They were his parents. And given the potent smell surrounding both of them, they were covered in fresh blood.
What happened next Sam has tried to forget. His parents tried to explain what happened and, as much as he didn't want to believe it, there was no way to deny it. While he'd been at his friend's house, Justin met with what he'd first thought to be muggers on his way home from work. But they weren't muggers; they were vampires. They attacked him without warning, drinking him dry and leaving him for dead. By some miracle Justin had survived, but his need to feed was too great. He came home to find Lucy all alone and, in his hunger he turned her as well. Had they not both been fulled with human blood, they probably would have killed or turned Samuel as well.
Thus, Sammy ended up with two vampires for parents despite being a mere mortal himself. Rather than risk his safety by keeping him with them, they sent in an application to Cry Wolf High without telling him. They strongly believed it would help him adjust to their new status as vampires and teach him how to live with the supernatural while keeping him safely out of harms way. Little did they know what sort of environment Cry Wolf was for human children such as himself.
Ultimately Sam got accepted to the boarding school and, despite much protest, his bags were packed and he was shipped off to Louisiana. It's nothing like his big apple home and he can't help feeling really out of place. For one thing, his New York accent makes him feel a little self-conscious. For another, he's the one that's considered the freak in this school of creepy crawlies. In the few months he's been here, Sam's hated every minute of it. He's fed up with the way he gets treated and hates seeing others suffer at the hands of these creatures. They're no better than the bastards that ruined his parents' lives.
