Appearance:
Standing at only five feet, four inches doesn't mean she packs less of a wallop. This chica can swing with the best of them and come out on top in a bar fight. Her hair is constant in that it often changes whenever the fancy strikes her. Her state of dress is as professional as cursing during a job interview (she did that, too). Quite like a student herself, this rebellious teacher enjoys the provocative, the crazy, the insane, the creative. She highly believes in the freedom of expression and encourages her pupils to do the same even if it is against school dress code. As for tattoos...there are many. Far too many. However, many of them are of Eastern influence. A few include the Japanese symbol for good luck and one for happiness, the Chinese symbol for infinity, and a dragon on her left thigh. [Human form]Personality:
As for her dragon form, it is quite well known. Well, to the ones who built the statue ages ago and maybe their descendants, her existence was known. Her scales are all gold. Each and every one shimmers with an ethereal light that can be somewhat blinding if in direct sunlight. Her body is extremely long and thin with relatively short legs in comparison. Her wings are so thin and membranous, they weren't even made on the statue. When not in use, they lay tucked so tight to her side that they merge in with the rest of her scales. She has two long horns and even the whiskers similar to a catfish, though they are more flowing and freely moveable. Sharp spikes run down her spine, making for a not so comfortable ride should one try. [Dragon Statue in her honor]
Free Spirit: Ashelin had never been one to be bogged down by rules, laws, and restrictions. She doesn't walk the line. She flies right the hell over it into the nitty, gritty darkness just to bring back something light from it to share with the world. Taking the expected route is not her status quo and she will waggle her finger with a teasing smile at any who act too prim and proper. Wild and unruly, she is the life of the party.History:
Strong Heart: Despite her no strings barred approach on life, Ashelin doesn't believe in letting people float in the wind without a sail or even a paddle. She is extremely compassionate, especially to the underdogs. An animal lover for the same reason, she stands against abuse of all kinds. Bullying in front of her is never a good idea for she doesn't take a normal approach. Depending on the infraction, she'll hang the offender from the flag pole by his underwear. There's none of this writing on the board prissy shit from her. If the bull and his horns aren't good enough for someone, they get her dragon's.
A study in contradictions: There is nothing two-dimensional about Ash. She can be both angry and apologetic, ballsy and bashful. She can take things in a laid back fashion or throw herself all in. Unpredictable in every situation based on striking whims, this female is hard to pin down. While she appreciates men in many, many ways, she believes women think too lowly of themselves and encourages them to step out of expected norms and be their own woman.
From the day she was born, Ashelin proved troublesome to her parents. Far too free-spirited to stay with the family, she traveled like one starved for knowledge. She had no hate for humans as most of her race held, finding them enjoyable and the things they did interesting. Though she did walk among them as human, Ashelin never denied her dragon her right to life. Whenever the mood hit her, regardless of who was around, the fire dragon would change form and take to the sky. Most often, this happened while she traveled in the Eastern countries. At the time of her travels, these countries were little more than small, widespread villages. Her presence was strange each time. A young woman just didn't travel alone. Such things were unheard of, but she waved off all offers to stay long-term. There were always young men trailing after her like lovestruck puppies, and a few she would take on as lovers, but as humans lives were fleeting, so too was she. There was a string of heartbreaks that could be traced in the path she carved across the country sides and even across the sea to an island that wouldn't even be recognizable should she visit it now.Name: Vet
Though she enjoyed most aspects of human hobbies, she really hit her calling whenever music came around. Her voice was rough and guttural, but with a charm all on its own. Whenever she chose to sing, she enraptured her audience, always pushing a little ahead of the times and opening minds to the possibilities of what it could grow to be.
Music was all well and good, but it didn't really become music until the rock age hit. It was then that Ashelin took to the stage. Pushing limits was the name of the game, and damn was she good at it. The drugs weren't much of a draw to her - they'd done it better in the old ages without all the synthetic crap that put in it now - and still she thrived in the limelight.
But like all good things, the fame and fortune had to come to an end. Dragons were a dying race and humans didn't even believe in them anymore. While Ashelin would have been more than willing to expose what she was to the world, she knew the human race wasn't ready for such a mindfuck. Nor was she certain the rest of her race was prepared for it. Besides, she'd seen all the movies where the dragon was hunted down like game.
So she disappeared from the bright lights and fans screaming her name. Ashelin became a forgotten star, but she still enjoyed the hermit's life for a few years. The peace and quiet from the growing music had given her time to perfect her own. She'd never kept much contact with her family, and still didn't reach out to them even after centuries had passed. As far as she was concerned, she was a loner and had made it on her own just fine. Muddying the waters with attachments wasn't necessary nor wanted.
But now the dragon has come back. She interviewed for a job with Cry Wolf High in a rocker shirt filled with holes, earrings in her ears, and her hair stark pink. While her appearance had damn near made the headmaster choke on his prissy tea when she'd walked in, her obvious prowess in the arts had him convinced quickly. "Kids need culture these days anyway," she'd told him with a wink when he looked too nervous. The fiery teacher takes on life with no reservations and encourages those around her to do the same.
